The anchor bolts stick out substantially higher than the cap. Consequently the post on top is very unstable as the cap swivels.

Kinda thin. Doesn’t fit a standard 8x8 treated without shaving down the post to fit one direction. Other direction fit fine since there’s no plate. It’s only 7 1/4” wide, that isn’t any post size ever seen

bought these to secure the pergola posts. the stainless steel finish will look very nice with cedar posts.

I modified the hardware slightly by using Simpson Strong-Tie galvanized fasteners instead of concrete wedge anchors for ease of installation and strength. I also used silicone to prevent galvanic corrosion between the stainless steel and galvanized metals especially in the highly corrosive environment near Florida’s Intracoastal Waterway. Hopefully that will decrease against degradation and extend the lifespan. I wish the vendor would provide the grade of stainless steel. I’m only using them for the stair landing not the main deck level and suspect it’s 304 stainless steel or low grade.

Some reviews stated that these were less than the standard nominal 6"x6" width, requiring one to cut the timber to fit. Regardless, this is not a big deal, so I went ahead with the purchase. BUT, happily I measured the inside width at exactly 5.5", so NO cutting required. These are built very well. The best deal on a post base out there.

I was surprised how sturdy the Stainless is, and the contents they ship with it. These are a steal compared to other galvanized or stainless steel type fastener. I’ve bought 6, and all of them fit snug on pressure treated 6” x 6” milled lumber, 5.5” x 5.5” ) like you get at your lumber yard or big store. They should not have used the word “rough” lumber when describing the fit, because you will need to shave a half inch or more. Even the milled standard 6” x 6” is sometimes 6 5/8” or greater, and I’ve just taken a grinder with a 40 -60 grit abrasive pad and trimmed it down a bit. Well worth the little effort of labor you need to put in. I used longer 3/8” stainless wedge anchors, because I had them on hand, otherwise they include all the hardware you need. Again, it depends on your application and any codes that are required. I will usually err on the side of caution, and go for thicker and longer hardware ( that’s what she said” ) when possible
