I got this for my daughter for Christmas who has shown an interest in learning to sew. I thought the designs were super fun for her age group (she is 7) and it looked like it would make teaching her really easy! The material is a really durable felt-type material and the plastic sewing needle is great for small hands. Overall, I think it was worth it, but I will say, it is sometimes hard to get the pre-cut holes to line up right. It's kind of hard to finish sewing once you put the stuffing in because it makes the holes not line up right, but it's doable with some time and patience. Overall, we are pleased with this product and I would order something like this again.

This was a Christmas present for my 6 year old granddaughter. Has easy to follow directions and pre-pinched holes in the fabric. Everything included for each project.

This kit is a great kit for kids that have interest in crafts and sewing. My only complaint is the thread tangles and knots easily and is hard to thread in the plastic needle. This isn’t a big problem for adults, but can definitely be challenging and frustrating for a kid. That said, if an adult gets everything set up first, it is very easy for a young child to use. My 6 year old daughter loved stitching and filling the turtle as well as the design after. I think this set is a great way to keep a young child entertained as well as teaching them sewing easily.

I ordered two of these sets for my two daughters who are aged 6 and 9. They have done a set similar this one in the past but it was different themed felt characters. We tried this one and really like the mermaid themed items but we were disappointed with lack of instructions for this beginner set. My 6 year old struggled to keep up with her sister and having instructions is a no brainer to me but there are none beyond some basic steps on the box (which was recycled moments after opening bc who keeps the box).I docked a star for lack of instructions but overall I feel this kit is cute and well made. Keep it on your short list but there are better ones out there.
