The lens itself is amazing- near perfect so long as you understand that focus speed is going to be a major issue- on a6700 it is about 2 seconds on cont AF and sensitivity set to 5. When you go from far to near or near to far, you have to prompt the lens on what to focus on- I had to tap the screen or half push the shutter button to get it to focus on new subject, but then it was really quick, maybe a half second or so at most. This should already be a known if you are getting the lens. Amazing, just has to have the holdbacks for 550usd. Amazing for low to moderate speed pictures and video, but not a lens for sports/racing/fast animals at close-up.The problem is in the software due to website changes (issue is using Chrome. When using Mozilla, I was able to easily get a direct download without needing any account/app setup). You can no longer just go look up your lens and directly download the update/see what version is current. Now, you must download their app and pair your lens before you even get to seeing firmware update. And that is where the trouble begins...The lens is not Bluetooth, but their android app will only add a device if it is found in their Bluetooth scan.The Apple app just shows a black screen when you try to log in.There is no pc versionYou must log in and add a device in order to find out if your firmware is up to date or not...so I sent an email to Viltrox asking how I am to go about seeing the current firmware version.Other things that some people may be concerned about or not:You must give the app full access to your network and allow it to make changes, record audio, allow precise location to be known via GPS/network, read and delete USB storage, modify/delete internal media storage contents, access Bluetooth settings, and run on startup.Some of those are nbd, but if you are somebody that has a big concern over things like this, you may decide that you do not want to do an update.I just want to see if I am at least close to latest version of software, but am unable to.Short of that issue, going to be taking super moon pictures the next few days and really enjoying seeing what this lens can do vs Sony G for APSC and how -ish it is compared to GM on APSC for image quality.Star off because it is struggling a tad bit more than expected on focusing at 20ft/6m without regularly needing a fine-tune focus or two after the first focus on that areaHalf star off for multiple software updates (currently v1.05) and focus is still a tad more of an issue than I would like. Hopefully there will be another update in the next 6mo or so that will improve the focus a little- then it would be a 4.5/5 lens.

Where to even begin with this beast of a lense. From the awesome build quality to the breath takingly fast autofocus the lense serves best for beginners and pros alike. Definitely worth having in one's aresenal regardless of where you are on your photographic journey. This lense is reasonably priced but worth every penny

光害カットフィルターとソフトフィルターをつけて星景写真を中心にで使っています。Youtubeなどのレビューでも言われている通り素晴らしい解像感です。個人的な高評価ポイント•安い•明るい•高い解像感•ディスプレイつき•ボタンつき•フォーカスメモリー機能•前玉が非球面("出目金"でない)個人的な不満としては•明るいがボケの形状や雰囲気はイマイチ•金属鏡筒なので重い(人によっては高評価なポイント)•フードがプラスチック製で本体と比べて華奢•ディスプレイの輝度設定やOFFにできない•フード最大径が鏡筒に比べてかなり大きい(超広角なので仕方ないが)特にボケ感はf値に対してかなり硬い印象があり、明るさに惹かれて溶けるようなボケ感を期待するとガッカリすると思います。が、そのデメリットを帳消しにするくらいメリットが大きいです。解像感がとにかく素晴らしいのでメーカーが用途として挙げているように星や建物のような撮影に割り切って使うのがオススメです。

I am not a photographer, so I am probably not the best person to review this product.I like taking photos in diffrent places in nature.I figured I might improve my photos with this lens, while keeping my budget in control.I am really impressed with the results!The quality of the materials is great and the lens feels sturdy.It is easy to mount/unmount, but you need to use it with the included hood, otherwise you get blurry pictures.Overall I like this lens as I can capture a lot more in the pictures with great details. And the price is reasonable.

I'm a stills-only photographer using the Viltrox 75mm f1.2 lens on my Sony a6400 for about 6 weeks now. I highly recommend this lens. As noted frequently by others, the build quality, sharpness and overall image quality are fantastic. Sharpest lens I have ever owned and that includes premium the glass I have that costs thousands more. Complete with weather sealing, this is an uncommonly excellent deal. I mostly do street photography and the Viltrox easily focuses fast and reliably enough for my use. I was not sure I would have use for a focal length of 75mm on APS-C, but as it turns out, I rarely take this lens off of my camera now. The Viltrox 75mm won't win any prizes for best bokeh balls, but they are certainly good enough. Chromatic aberration is well controlled, no problem there. There is no stabilization on this lens, which does not affect my stills photography since I generally shoot at higher shutter speeds making stabilization unnecessary. Great lens.

I was hesitant to buy with no reviews but I’m glad I did! The 1.8 aperture makes the bokeh look creamy on full frame.Auto focus is pretty fast. I did not notice any issues or noise in video. There is some vignetting in photos but can easily be fixed.Honestly this is a great deal at $400. Very light too. For a vlogging semi-wide lens it’s great! I have this paired with my Sony a7siii.
