Does not work very well with the sigma 24-70 f2.8 art . Acts weird when you mount fully manual lenses .

This allows the use of EF lenses on an Canon R body. It also mimics the control ring found on RF lenses. It is well made and operates well all at half the price of the Canon version.

I love that I can use my ef lens still. The only problem is if you don't make sure it's clicked in all the way you the camera will say it doesn't recognize a lens. As long as you make sure both are in all the way you are good to go. The autofocus works really well and I haven't had any problems with it. The lens is a little loose in the adapter so the pro version would probably by more secure but this works for what I need it to do.

This adapter worked maybe 30% of the time with my Canon RP. On start up, the control ring would not adjust what it was programmed to most of the time even after the update to 1.4 firmware.Likewise, it was rather loose-fitting with the lenses I use and allowed for quite a bit of wobble. The lenses are Tamron SP 15-30 G2 and Sigma 70-200, so it certainly isn't the lenses that are out of spec.

I use the product with my Sigma 18-35mm 1.8 adapted to my Canon R6 with this adapter. I was expecting subpar performance much like the MFT model and didn’t believe the auto focus would work (especially with a non-canon lens) but boy was I was pleasantly shocked. With canon’s R cameras the auto focus is nearly as good as a native lens. I have trusted it on professional shoots. It works to perfection. Also the fact you get a control ring for this cheap is amazing. Great value for money. My only gripe (and it’s not a big one) is that the adapter sort of has a tiny ringing noise to it when it’s focusing. Doesn’t really pick it up on camera if you use a shotgun mic but built in, you will hear it in your video. It worried me at first because I thought it was broken but nah, it’s just the noise it makes. Well worth it though . I’d buy again.

Excellent quality for a good price! This has allowed me to pair my EOS R with my EF L and even Sigma lenses with no problems at all. Why pay more?

This is a well-built item for the same price as the standard adapter, but with control ring option. I would trust even my most expensive lens hanging off of this.Sometimes the control ring does get in the way because it's so wide. If you have large fingers or a low-profile tripod, this might get in the way for you.Sometimes the camera will fail to recognize the control ring and I'll need to detach it and retry. I have my set to exposure compensation on my EOS RP.

I've used this quite a bit on my Canon EOS R5 and it works well and is easy to use.Two complaints: the extra multi-function ring is a lot looser than the ones on canon RF lenses and is a bit too easy to accidentally turn. Not a deal breaker or anything but a bit annoying. The other complaint is that it has some play in the mounts, and lenses on the camera can wiggle a bit. This hasn't interfered with photograph for me but I imagine it can cause problems with people who do more video. It would be nice if the tolerances were tighter, but I can put a 6 pound lens on it and hang it from my camera and it's never felt at all likely to fall off.UPDATE- after having it for a year, it's been getting looser, to the point where the electrical connections disconnect and cause it to glitch. I think if I had only used it on light lenses it might've been fine, but it's not sturdy enough to stand up to long-term use with heavy lenses. Downgraded it to 3 stars.

EDITED: after using this adapter I will still say it works. HOWEVER, there is something going on where it is leaking light. I now have the canon one and do not have the problem w it. This adapter was giving me haze even when the sun was totally out of my frame.I don't know that I have ever written an amazon review, but I wanted to so people would know this item does work on a canon eos R6. Auto focus works, eye detections works - it works. There is a setting you have to disable in the menu to get it to fire the shutter & then you are good to go! I can tell a difference between the sharpness of my RF lens and the Ef lens. I just got this yesterday so I haven't had time to see if I can fix that or not yet, but still for this price & while the canon is backordered this will work! :)

This is a great value if you want that extra controller but don't want to pay $200 for the Canon one.You are making some concessions of course. No weather sealing. This one is much thicker than the canon, not just on the ring but the plastic shroud too. It actually drops below the bottom of my canon RP so if you want to mount this on a base plate it might interfere unless you have the grip extension. The wheel itself clicks a little cheaply but worked just as the canon.
