  • Yes, absolutely! The Vita comes with grow sponges that you can drop your own seeds into. This flexibility allows you to grow exactly what you want, from your favorite herbs to unique vegetable varieties.

  • The Scentalis Vita is perfect for growing a wide variety of herbs, leafy greens, vegetables, and even flowers. However, it’s best suited for smaller plants that thrive in a hydroponic environment.

  • Yes. The Scentalis Vita works best with the included nutrient mix. Additional nutrients can be easily purchased from various vendors

First add 50ml each of the A & B nutrients to a full water tank, then add 15ml of each every ~2 weeks.

  • The Scentalis Vita is designed to be low-maintenance. You’ll need to occasionally add nutrients to keep your plants thriving.

Keeping the water topped up is ideal, and because of the large tank, we would recommend to refill it once every two weeks.

  • The Scentalis Vita is designed to be energy-efficient, using very little electricity. The LED grow lights are optimized for low power consumption while still providing the necessary light spectrum for plant growth.

I own two Mufga systems and they have disappeared from Amazon. I was looking for another 18 pod unit and was unable to find anything that big other than this system. I have set it up and planted seeds, so I am not able to comment further than set up and differences I see between brands. Will post more if there's differences.Pros:~Large footprint with 20 pods~Can switch out to sides to change number of pods instead of just leaving them open or covering with tinfoil to reduce noise and evaporation.~Light goes up really high for large plants (Mufga had the highest light I could find, this beats it)~Nice look, kind of vintage danish modern feel which looks better than the plastic models IMHO - but it is clunky and boxy so it depends on what you likeCons:~Light bar only goes down to about 9-10" from plants which is high compared to other models that can almost touch. I will have to wait and see how this affects growth of seedlings~There is no water meter level~Instructions are not great - if I didn't already own two other units, I would have been seriously confused on both set up of unit and how to grow. Pump was barely mentioned and no picture of it included in the instructions. This is a major pet peeve of mine and I'm taking an additional star off because of it.~Display -Limited on/off function of lights vs. having ability to set to different amounts of time on or levels of light only fruit mode or veggie mode - nothing in the instructions on if you are doing both -There is a clock on the unit, but no ability to set anything to different times, not sure why a clock is needed. -Very limited information on how to use the display~Expensive compared to other brandsI'm going to keep this unit because of the size. In addition to using it for food, I start seedlings in these because I suck at growing seeds and this is a no brainer and much cheaper year after year than buying grown plants. While the unit is functioning fine, if I was starting out, I might go with something else, less expensive, and a brand that's more established with better instructions. Or if you find something on YouTube that explains it better, than maybe it's ok.For those just starting out, also keep in mind that the pods on all of these systems are very close and if growing to full capacity, you usually can't use all of the spaces. I tend to either thin as they grow plant a portion in dirt or in a glass container using the Kratky method.

I have 3 other hydronic units, Scentalis is my 4th unit. Everything was in the box & was packed neatly. Set up was easy. My tomatoes & lettuce sprouted in 2 days! I really like the square tube that the light is attached to. It is very sturdy and does not turn if it is bumped. I like the larger size of the tank; more room for roots = happy plants. I also like that I can choose how many plants I want to grow. This for me was a big plus. It is a very quiet unit. It is right next to my chair, and you just can't hear it run.I am pleased with the unit so far, price is reasonable. I would recommend!

Just started so I can't say much yet, but it looks fine so far.Assembly is not very difficult, but the guide that shows the assembly is not sufficient. It is mostly text based and there should be more images. (Maybe have a look at the ikea pictoral guides to assemble their stuff, which is quite good and more or less foolproof.)Some things you really have to figure out by yourself and are not clear from your description. I would suggest a run through video on YouTube where you show everything step by step, which will make it a lot easier for people purchasing your product

I choose this for the flexibility in configuration, size of the water reservoir and the height of the grow lamp. Setup was straightforward. I haven't used it yet as I'm waiting for seeds to arrive. Will update after use.

Contacted customer service thru their email and still haven't heard anything back. The pump turns off and doesn't come back on unless I unplug it and plug it back in. Update: still no response from customer support email. Red light is now on and no way to tell what it means. Returning and lowering to 1 star.

The Scentalis Vita Indoor Hydroponics System is a sleek growing module that’s all about CAPACITY. The 10L tank and large growing platform provides the user with an edge when growing bushy plants like lettuce, or if there’s simply a need for a greater number of pods than traditional table top systems typically offer. Another advantage of the Vita system is the powerful 30W grow light panel. It features a generous array of white, (n=93), red (n=24), blue (n=6), and IR (n=6) LEDs that emit full-spectrum illumination sufficient for all stages of vegetative growth, flowering, and fruiting. Overall, it's a great system with plenty to offer. Here's a summary of my experience...👍 ADVANTAGES 👍✔︎ Large 10L reservoir volume for optimal aeration and nutrient circulation.✔︎ All components appear to be good quality. No faulty parts or blemishes.✔︎ Generous 10x15-inch growing platform with holes for up to 20 pods.✔︎ Flexible POD spacing. Options include 12, 16, and 20 pod slots.✔︎ Powerful 30W full-spectrum light source (wattage confirmed by user).......• Height adjustable from 9-26 inches......• Two different light modes or settings: Leafy/VEG & Flower. NOTE: The only difference between the two settings is n=6 blue LEDs that come on in Flower mode. In my experience, this seems to be backwards (i.e. blue should be ON in VEG mode). So I’ll be using the Flower mode for my VEG crops.......• PPFD @ 9inches: 260 umol/m2/s......• PPFD @ 26-inches: 50 umol/m2/s✔︎ User programmable auto ON/OFF grow light cycle for hands-free operation.......• 16h ON......• 8h OFF......• Saved program is not erased in the event of a power outage. In other words, system has memory.......• User can manually turn OFF lights or change the light setting at any time without erasing program memory.✔︎ Submersible circulation pump is whisper quiet.✔︎ Low water level safety shut-off. Activates when water drops below ~2 qts.✔︎ The system is easy to set-up and program.✔︎ Two (2) year warranty, with a 1-yr extension upon registration. Total of 3-years can’t be beat!✔︎ Competitively priced at $79.99.👎 LIMITATIONS 👎✔︎ Large footprint requires more tabletop space.✔︎ No viewing window to monitor the water level or root mass.❗️No independent control for the submersible circulation pump. User is limited to the factory-set ON/OFF programmed cycle.......• Pump runs for 15min every 2h. Time will tell if this is sufficient to ensure optimal aeration and nutrient circulation.✔︎ The 16h ON, 8h OFF grow light cycle cannot be modified by the user. Only the start time of the ON cycle is programmable.✔︎ Although the light panel extends to a distance of 26-inches above the growing platform, the optimal PAR range is limited to approximately 16-inches. At that distance, PPFD is 100 umol/m2/s.✔︎ Supplemental lighting may be required when the light is greater than 16-inches above the growing platform. However, this will depend on the height of the plant. Needless to say, it helps to have a quantum PAR meter on hand to monitor PPFD and DLI levels as the plants grow.✔︎ There’s no drain plug in the reservoir to assist the user when changing the water. Things could get messy!❗️The routing slot for the pump power cord appears to be inadequately finished (too narrow, sharp edges). At least to my eye. This made it difficult to secure the pump (via the suction cups) at the bottom of the reservoir. Making matters worse, the sharp edges cut into the cord jacket (see attached pics). I used 600-grit sandpaper to widen the slot and smooth the edges. Only took a few minutes and it solved the problem.CONCLUSIONThe Scentalis Vita Indoor Hydroponics System is a great product for any level of experience. Both the overall quality and ease of use are above average. The only two limitations that gave me cause for concern relate to the submersible circulation pump. To be clear, the pump works just fine and is whisper quiet. It even has a flow regulator. But the lack of user control and the way the power cord is routed at the bottom of the reservoir are both weak design elements. Still, if the user keeps a close eye on the reservoir water quality and takes a few minutes to widen and smooth the slot for the pump cord, these concerns should disappear. I definitely recommend this high capacity hydroponics system with a strong 4-star rating.
