What is a voltage regulator rectifier?
The regulators/rectifiers are charging control devices that rectify the power output from the ACG, charge batteries, and maintain fixed battery voltages, but do not supply batteries with extra ACG output.
Are motorcycles AC or DC?
The reason for this is that almost all motorcycles are equipped with a three-phase AC (Alternating Current) generator, while the electrical system on the bike is a DC (Direct Current) system. The rectifier part inside the regulator-rectifier takes care of converting the AC-current to the DC-current the battery needs.
Will a motorcycle start with a bad Rectifier?
The rectifier is part of the charging system. If you put a freshly charged battery in your motorcycle, and you have a bad rectifier, it won't stop your motorcycle from starting, but your battery wouldn't stay charged. The regulator/rectifier on your motorcycle performs two functions.
Does a rectifier change voltage?
Although a rectifier converts alternating current to direct current, the resulting direct current isn't a steady voltage.
Is a voltage regulator the same as a rectifier?
Perhaps the biggest thing to note is that a rectifier converts input AC power into DC electrical power. Regulators are, on the other hand, systems configured to automatically maintain a constant voltage level to protect various apparatus against damage that can be caused by fluctuating voltage.

The product arrived as advertised. Shipping was a few days late. The packaging was thin and flimsy. The guards were wrapped in thin packaging foam. No packaging on the inside of the box on the ends...there was some damage on the ends of the guards. They were usable...but not nice. They installed fine. The only complaint I have is the screws were not painted. I suspect in a few years I'll have rust running down my gutters from the rusty screw heads.

battery wasn't charging. blown fuse but also found that the rectifier plastic had cracked...didn't rectify anymore. haha. this replacement was a exact fit for a great price. 14+VDC again!! for zero-turn lawn mower.

My Toro tractor had a charge warning light. After pulling the flywheel checking everything and replacing this regulator the light is still on but the battery seems to charge. No idea why the light is on.
