I've had the frog version for several years. They've saved me from a leaky basement many, many times up in Ohio. I just bought the lady bugs for my Florida home a few months ago. Well, the one under the kitchen sink started chirping a few days ago. It took me a minute to find the source of the chirp, but sure enough, it was the lady bug alerting me to a leak under the sink. I was able to stop the leak in seconds and before any damage at all was done. Even the next door neighbor heard her chirp! Granted our walls are paper thin and the houses are close together, but the chirp is loud enough!

my mum would always leave the tap on filling the pot in the kitchen. so i bought this to put next to the pot to let her know when it was overflowing... and this product was PERFECT!!!!!!!! highly recommend.. it not super loud like a fire alarm, but beeps moderately loud, so its not super annoying! i love it! recommend if you have an internal hot water system put it on the floor. or anywhere that you need to sense water.. i love it.. will probably buy more!

Good price for great sensors. They also look like one of our dogs toys, so no one even notices or comments on them. Several are in view, but no one pays attention to them. They are easy to use. We bought two sets, as we have many items for them to sensor any water. Also, every easy to test to make sure they work.

These are a little pricy but they really work. I keep one under every sink and consider them all insurance against very costly repairs. I also keep one near my home water heater and AC/furnace. I also have them positioned near each of my aquariums. They are very easy to use, super sensitive (I just lick my fingers and touch each contact to test them), and very loud!

I've been using the similar product in the shape of BUGS for many years. They have saved me a tremendous amount by preventing water damage from common household events. Dripping sinks in bathroom, water coming in from the foundation, water flowing in under the garage door, and more. These products work well and last a long time. I'll be honest that I use at least two other brands including one that sends me a SMS message if it detects a problem. Since water leaks can be so expensive, I don't put all my eggs in one basket, with a single vendor. and I have at least a dozen water sensors around the house. Under ever sink, washing machine, most toilets, water heater, garage door, corners in the basement, etc. This product can be annoying when someone washes the floor... as it starts to ring and they don't typically know how to stop it from ringing. And/or because of that, the cleaners place this item off the floor and then forget to return it where it is needed when the floor is dry against post mopping. It would be nice if there was a "timeout" button that mutes the beeping for 15 minutes. Of course, I'd like this brand to one day have WiFi too. But for now, I love this item, I use them, the battery lasts a whole year, the unit lasts for many years, they work when you need them to, etc. Highly recommend to family and friends. Best on the market, for those without WiFi. I'll be buying more soon. Makes a great gift too.

It's cute ...it works. It came with batteries. It's sitting on basement floor by my water tank. It's loud enough to be heard upstairs.

I got this leak bug to protect under my sinks inside their cabinets, behind the refrigerator where the ice maker and water dispenser had already leaked causing water damage, and by a window that kept leaking until a fourth contractor actually found and fixed the problem. One evening, the leak bug under our kitchen sink went off. I slowly removed everything and there sat the leak bug in as little of water as possibly could be detected, imho, basically just drops. I had set the leak bug on a piece of paper towel. It soaked up enough drops of water and being the brand it is, known for continually being able to absorb water, the leak bug finally went off. I say "finally", but seriously, barely a leak.I checked all the hoses and pipes in the area and found nothing wet. I dried everything up and sat the lady bug up again upon a small piece of paper towel.A week later, she alarms us again and the same exact scenario was present, although this time some drops were even on the lady bug. I checked all pipes and hoses again, especially directly above the lady bug and found nothing. I accidentally hit a hose about midway up in its length and water fell onto the back of my hand. I traced the water source to be located to a coupling in the water intake hose to the sink.I explained all this to our plumber and he felt that this was easy enough for his side kick to check into. He arrived the next morning, first thing, but there was no water leaking to be found, not even in that coupling. He asked if I wanted it replaced anyway and I said, "sure, go ahead."A week later, the same thing! Lady bug was there to mock our lame attempt to fix the problem! This time, my plumber, not his side kick, showed up 2 hours after the lady bug's alarm went off. Same deal. Nothing was wet anywhere, but the coupling (the new coupling!) somehow still held water. Our plumber said the only way he could think of other than a faulty coupling is that the lower hose's plastic inner lining was beginning to crack. He replaced the lower hose and I put the lady bug back on her paper towel perch. She hasn't alarmed us since! Our plumber was so impressed that such a leak was caught so early! He also loves the idea that homeowners can prevent the costly damage due to plumbing failures. He asked me to send him a link to this product so he could recommend it to clients, especially those with tricky leaks like we had!I am against any compensation via discounts, coupons, or any other cost break for giving reviews. This review is my true experience.
