For the money this unit is NOT worth buying and to look at a new solder iron. I have had this iron for 8yrs and when the tip finally went out I was blown away for as much they charge for this cheap material. The heat disapaites SUPER fast so it's hard to get the transfer to the copper wires BUT the ease of starting is fantastic and the small unit it attaches to is perfect so I guess if it lasts another 8yrs it's okay.... but price is terrible

Just a few dozen gentle uses and cleanings and the tip is already worn to a 1/4th inch diameter stub. For the price they should last longer than this.Edit: dropping this to one star because with just a few months of occasional use the tip is gone and it's just a blob of metal. Do they make them out of tin? NOT worth the price.

Really good replacement tip to use but it's pretty pricey for this little tiny piece especially if you need more spares

I have an older Weller P2K butane soldering iron that I really like. It was difficult finding replacement tips for intricate work. This one works great.
