I bought a Wen electric chainsaw for my wife because she's afraid of the gas one (sometimes she likes to do her own thing). Because that saw performed so well, I bought this pole saw for reaching without a ladder (or in addition to a ladder). The first one arrived completely busted, but was promptly replaced by Amazon/Seller and has served me well since.

I have a Wen cordless chain saw and I thought this would be a perfect accompaniment as they can share batteries. However this saw doesn’t extend very long and seems a bit unwieldy. Also it does not seem to want to cut through branches more than an inch and a half thick. I can frankly do better with my extendable pole lopper.

I chose the Wen pole saw since I have had the Wen 16" chainsaw for over a year. I am very satisfied with both products for battery life, not leaking the bar and chain oil while being stored, and the ease of chain adjustment. The pole saw is a bit heavy, but for someone younger and in shape, it would be fine. I can easily wield this pole saw for about 45 minutes before wanting to take a break. This sure beats pulling to crank a gas engine or dragging a power cord. It will also reach much higher than I expect to be cutting to keep branches clear of my tractor roll bar. I feel much safer now trimming without climbing a ladder!

We have owned a Wen battery powered chainsaw for a few years and for a small job tool it has worked flawlessly. The pole saw also works great. Quickly cuts through 4 inch branches. Chain adjustment could not be simpler. Only $100 w/o battery at time of purchase.

After pouring bar and chain oil into it, it leaks constantly. Can't return it so now I have to store it laying sideways otherwise the oil leaks out of the tub and onto the floor

This saw is great and cuts like a pro. Has a real Oregon chain and bar, and adjusts like a gas chain saw. Great torque and starts a cut even pressed against the limb. Heavy duty and easy to adjust fiberglas pole system. Tool-less mounting and adjustment. Easy to see oil reservoir. Was surprised at how much cutting I could get out of a 2 Ahr battery. The charger is fast and real easy to use.However... even though the battery is at the tail end, the cutting head is quite heavy and difficult to counterbalance when fully extended. That's because the motor is direct drive and in the cutting head, and no drive shaft. Since the trigger is electronic (wired only), I would prefer if it had an adjustable position to better balance hand holds (trigger only at far end of pole with worst leverage). It would also be nice if the power head disconnected from the pole since it only needs the trigger wire to otherwise connect it (use a plug to unplug). This would make it easier to store in the back of the tiny 5-1/2' pickup beds so common now. This would also allow it double as an independent pruning saw option??

Awesome tool , cuts excellent ,has oil reservoir, exstends a lot and is strong when extended. I trimmed branches ten to fifteen feet above my head. , money well spent. Just remember to use the 3 cut method for great cut and no damage to the tree . First cut about a foot from trunk, then an undercut to prevent ripping bark and making it hard for the tree to heal. , then cut it off from the top down meaning up with the under cut. Be safe and take your time and enjoy a wonderful tool. Pairs up well with the chainsaw. Love them both.
