Whiteside Machine Company was founded in 1970 as a general purpose machine shop in the basement of Bill & Bobbie Whiteside's home. Located in Western North Carolina near the furniture manufacturing town of Hickory, the company was often involved in making repairs or special parts for the furniture and woodworking field. A strong commitment to customer problem-solving, a can-do attitude, and innovative ideas, along with a growing core of dedicated employees, helped the business evolve into a manufacturer of woodworking equipment and tooling. I routed fiber board today going no deeper than 1/4 inch and by the second pass the board started smoking and the bit bogged down to the point I was plowing through the board instead of cutting through it. That has to be some kind of record for dulling out a brand new router bit.

Showed up sharp and ready to get to work. I bought this to replace another WS bit that was ruined by a screw, but that bit lasted me 5 years with periodic sharpening.

Decided to make my own T-track assembly table, and didn't have a 3/4" width bit. This one did the trick. Made short work of dados in a 3/4" MDF table top. The edges are crisp and exactly 3/4" wide. Indeed, the T-track was such a tight fit I had to take some sandpaper to several parts. Result was a nice snug fit. Even using a palm router (Dewalt cordless DCW600), I was able to route the 3/8" deep dado in a single pass. I went slow to minimize mistakes, which wasn't 100% successful, but through no fault of the bit, which just chewed right through.

Needed a bit to install t tracks in my woodworking table. Clean even cuts and moves the wood chips out of way quickly.
