Whiteside router bits are more than most but in terms of accuracy and durability they are worth it.

Works as intended, machine work on the bit is superb, and so far so sharp!

I do not own any bit other than Whiteside. Yes they cost more but as the saying goes YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

I recently acquired this Whiteside 1062 straight cut carbide router bit. It cuts nice and clean. Cutter specifications are not marked on bit; just the manufacturer's name and part number. This router bit comes in a vinyl envelope as opposed to the small plastic storage containers popular with other manufacturers. Maybe it is just me, but with Whiteside's envelopes it seems like tool changes involve a bit more fumbling; and the router bits are less-well protected if you don't have your own storage boxes.Be aware that this particular router bit is NOT A CENTER CUTTING BIT. I bought this router bit at retail, in a hurry, and looking back, the lack of center cutting capacity was concealed by the protective rubber coating on the bit; and was not explicitly communicated on the packaging. Caveat emptor, I suppose. In retrospect, even their 2014 catalog does a poor job of communicating, at a glance, which of their router bits are center cutting, and which are not. Perhaps few or none of them are center cutting, so they don't bother to re-iterate that fact with each bit, or group of bits? Bluntly speaking, if I, or any customer, even has to wonder, then Whiteside has already failed. This sort of thing should be obvious from a glance at the catalog or a glance at the packaging.Whiteside's router bits were famously given high marks by Fine Woodworking magazine a while back. Their bits do cut nicely. But I am becoming so aggravated by the little things the company fails to do that I'm tempted to start avoiding their products out of spite.
