WICKED EDGE sharpener pays itself. Don't waste your time with "PLASTIC KNIFE SHARPENER" with vague / variable blade angle flexes during sharping, if devalue / ruin and shorten the knife blade life.

Just replacing my well worn stones. Original set lasted well over 10 years. Boy have they gone up in price but still the best sharpening system I have used.

These stones fit nice and tight out of the box to the wicked edge guide rods and work great for that final level of polish that I need for day to say use. Super durable and long lasting. I highly reccomend them

The stones are good! Expected a finer edge/less markings after use; while not taking much of the grind marks from the 600s away. It still gets sharp, just very bite-y sharp. This is a 15° s30v test blade. After passing through the stones I made a stropping motion full length of the stone and blade in opposite directions for the crosshatches on the edge. Wish they were a bit finer! That's as clean as the edge would get in pic. Redid it to show the 600 vs 1000. (Crosshatched and "strop motion" with 1000) it isn't a crazy difference. Now to finish it up! This is just about these stones.

Well i first purchased the Wicked edge basic edition that cam with the 100/200 and 400/600 grit stones. Well I read on a forum that guys were using strip of automotive sandpaper 800 grit and above to get that finer polish on it. So i order 2 sets of blank handles with aluminum Platens for attaching the sandpaper to and I tried that on a couple knives and it took many strip of 800 grit sand paper to get the grind lines out and it was a serious hassle putting on and off the sandpaper so I I saved up and ordered the 800/1000 Grit Stones AND Life Is So Much Easier now. I don't have and leather stops with micron paste but I found on bestsharpenstones.com they sell for 26$ 3m Lapping films that come in kits of 8 strips each of 9, 5, 3, 1, and .1 micron and have a peel off back to attach to your bland handles AND THEY WORK AWESOME! It finishes it with a mirror polish like I have never seen on an edge. I have gotten 8 knives so far on one strip on each handle and it's still polishes the edge just fine.I am totally impressed with the whole wicked edge system and I have had a couple high end knife sharpeners like the Apex edge pro, and the Works Sharp Ken Onion Edition and they can not get a edge lime the Wicked Edge. I am not saying they are bad but I get a little anal on how sharp I want an edge to be.ALSO! Get yourself an angle cube finder to make sure you get both side of your edges perfect. It's a must have. I bought one off of Amazon.com for 26$ and it's the same one they sell on wickededgeusa.com for 40$. I hope this review helps you. I recommend you getting these stones if you want a higher polished edge.

These stones worked great with my wicked edge system. They are not included with the field and sport kit. You will need these stones to get the polished gleaming look on your bevel. Knives sharpened on the included stones are very sharp (they will pass the paper slicing and arm hair shaving test), so if you don't care about razor sharp and a factory finish looking bevel they are not necessary. I am able to get these and a set of leather strops in the tough compact plastic case of the sport kit. Also, please note: If you are considering the kit, that mine ( bought at a show discount) came with the old style non-ball bearing slides. Wicked Edge is not/was not very good about making that clear to me. I believe they have a back stock of the old style and are trying to push them out the door. They work fine for my needs, but it is irritating and poor customer service.

If you have the wicked edge system or any other kind that didn't come with this grit, you need to buy these. It is a must have to obtain that elusive edge, as you know it`s done in stages, the finer the stage the sharper the blade, this is near the end of the sharpening process and if you don't have these you will never achieve the edge you desire. The next step is the 1200-1600 finishing, they in my opinion are also required, you simply will not believe what you will accomplish with these stones!
