Can i add devices normally without opening the App location permission?
Dear user. This hub has Wi-Fi and bluetooth functions, you can add a device by manually enter the Wi-Fi SSlD during the adding process without opening the App location permission, or add it by the Bluetooth with opening the App location permission.
This mailbox alarm can work normally without opening the App location permission.
Suitable for Different Mailbox Types
The mailbox sensor is triggered and sends a signal to the hub when the mailbox door is opened more than 45°.
The hub ring and send reminder to smartphone.
The arrow of the mailbox sensor should face upwards.
For mailboxes that the cover open upwards. The mailbox sensor alert when the cover closing more than 45° or opening more than 135°.
The mailbox sensor is triggered and sends a signal to the hub when the mailbox door is opened more than 45°.
Not applicable to this door opening mode.
The mailbox alarm is IP55 waterproof.

This notification is perfect! My prior mailbox notifier (Stich) failed after 4 years. My metal mailbox is at the curb (50'?) and I cannot see the mail carrier deliver my mail. This product call for one component double-stuck inside the mailbox, and another item plugged inside the garage/house, and an application added to my phone. There are no wires or anything hanging outside the mailbox. It has 10 different notification sounds, and multiple volumes. When the mailbox is opened, it sends a signal to the inside device which triggers the app, and the app sends a notification to my phone, no matter where I am. No additional fees. I highly recommend and will share with my HOA, cuz lots of neighbors are looking for mailbox notifications.

Some times it works and some it doesn't. When it works you can definitely hear it and get notification on your phone. Setup was easy through smart life. I can live with it being a some timer because I don't going to the mailbox everyday anyway. I highly recommend it.

Added battery and followed directions. Devices paired seamlessly. Only had to move receiver closer to front door to get allow devices to connect.

It works fine but after about 1 month the battery ( I assume the battery is dead) had to be changed then it would work again for about 1 month, etc. I have abandoned this and I am ordering a different brand!!!

It replaced my $200 mailbox alert system which quit working and it cost only a fraction by other system. Plus, it has the amazing advantage of sending an alert to my iPhone to let me know my mail has been delivered.

The unit appears well built, and works as advertised. HOWEVER, the app for it is dangerous. For the app to work, you must allow it access to GPS data. With that information, they know when you are not at home - not a safe situation. If you wish to give up your privacy while you are home, that would be your choice. When you are traveling, DISABLE the app, or you may be paying the price!

I eventually figured out how to set up the device even with the confusing instructions. However my concern is that in the Amazon ad it indicated that the notifications could be shared with other members of the family, yet there were no instructions indicating how to do that. I'm getting a notification just fine on my phone but I would also like it to pop up on my wife's phone. So I gave it three stars because of that fairly significant omission. Otherwise the device Works reasonably well once configured. So far. I'm only on my first day.
