This is like something out of 007, the real deal spy equipment. Works awesome.

I recently got to put the Melonare SD-2-1R through its paces at my church. Our entire Praise & Worship Team uses Sennheiser in-ear monitor systems, and I found this one at least on par with those. The packaging:This unit comes with:• One transmitter• One receiver• BNC antenna• BNC cable to connect to a rack• Mount kit for a rack• Batteries• Ear buds (if you don’t have your own)• Power cableThe box itself can be used as a carrying case, which is a plus. It is best to get a more solid case for it if you plan on toting it around a bit, but not necessarily off the bat.The transmitter:This was easy to install into our system. The BNC antenna clicked in nicely and was not loose at all, while the power cable fit well also. The LED screen lights up nicely and is easy to read. The connections on the back could facilitate either XLR or 1/4” cables and there is a pad switch to help prevent distortion. The receiver:This is very sturdy with an antenna that has no drooping to it. This is a BIG plus for me, as I tend to wear my body pack under my shirt to conceal it. Having to change frequencies is VERY easy to do by using the IR function to pair to the transmitter. Its display is easy to read, and the belt clip was snug once I got it clipped on.There is also a volume control that features a “Pan” function ON THE BODY PACK. For some, this could also be a big plus in order to balance the mix that comes through the ear buds. From a coverage standpoint, our stage is probably 40-50 yards from the transmitters, and I had about a 98% coverage of the stage without losing signal. The times where it cut out, it came back quickly, which is still better than the Sennheisers that we use. The audio was clean and bright and did not have to be all the way open to come through comfortably in my ears. Criticisms:For this unit, I only have a couple of things that could be better. The first could be nitpicking a bit, but the volume knob was not a natural setting for me. Its “zero” level is a bit too far to the right for what I am used to, being more at a 4:00 point, where I am more attuned to a 7:00 point to start from. That knob itself could feel a bit flimsy, but it really isn’t.The other issue I have could be more universal, and it comes to the connection itself. As a vocalist, I am perfectly OK with a mono signal that will go through both earbuds at the same time. This is not possible with this unit as it only transmits in stereo, and BOTH connections on the back must be plugged into something to achieve this. Usually, a mono signal can just be plugged into the left channel, but that only came through the left channel in my earbuds. There was no way to change the signal from stereo to mono, so if you go with this unit, you may have to purchase an XLR or ¼” y-splitter to get to both channels. (I will be testing that out this weekend, but I don’t see it not working.)Overall, this is a great IEM system, especially for the price. For those that are in a good proximity (the Amazon title says it has a range of one hundred sixty-four feet) to the transmitter, this easily can do the same job as those you will pay A LOT more for. I would recommend it!

Great item. Auto-scan does work, it automatically picks a clean frequency very fast. I like the stereo sound because I can hear a clean mix in my ears. It also gives me independent control. I level my vocals a bit higher than the instruments. The lock function on the bodypack will not allow settings to be accidentally changed. I have it clipped to my belt. Has a range of up to 165 ft, but I am only half of that (80 ft) away from the system. The signal holds firm, even with movement on stage. Supports several systems. My fellow guitarist has one and we haven't had interference.

Pro quality sound. Nothing negative to report here!Easy to set up.Transmitter can be rack mounted or set on a table top. Quickly scans and connects to receiver. No pops or crackles even at distance over 100 ft. Receiver is battery powered and has a belt clip.Ear plugs work fine but I am testing with a set that fits my ears better.I recommend this item for bands looking to reduce stage noise while adding clarity. Save your ears and improve your performance!

I have to give this triple thumbs up for lots of reasons. With 164-foot range, true stereo with balance control with independent left and right control and so much more. There is so much more and the description under About This Item goes through all of them. I want to comment on setting up this monitoring system. I installed it in my studio rack mount. They provide a left and right extension wing which fit perfectly into the standard rack dimensions. Ingeniously, they simply supply left and right leaflets which utilize the body as part of the mount. You simply take the screws on each side of the receiving body, remove them, and reinstall them on top of the extensions. Install the supplied AA batteries into the receiver. You will need your own rack install mounts including the flex metal wrap around clip enclosing the nut, and you will need the male thread insertion screw/nut/bolt or whatever you would like to call them. They supply a few different size earbuds for a custom fit.I want to take a moment to share with you just how important it is to have an in-ear monitor system. Singers often cannot hear their own voice when on stage with an array of musicians. Therefore, pitch becomes a challenge. I remember on the TV show "The Voice" where most of the contestants were off pitch. Marc Anthony instructed the crew to provide in-ear monitoring systems for the next show and the difference in the quality of their performances was remarkable. When you experience the loop coming directly from your voice right into your ears, your accuracy greatly improves. On stage floor monitors are helpful but do not provide exactness and individual adjustability (there is volume control on the receiver you commonly place on your belt) that in ear monitors provide. Whether you are in a studio or performing live on-stage ear bud monitors are a must have. Highly recommended.
