I have many skin tags and moles on my skin (unfortunately). The reason why I bought this microscope was precisely to check my moles. I am impressed how much it can zoom, i could see in depth how my mole was looking which I could not see with bare eye. I also used to look at thickness of my hair. works pretty well, highly recommended for the price.

Decent little portable microscope. Not the best magnification but for the price it's ok. Good for working on delicate, small electronics, inspecting coins or other general uses. Would recommend for beginners just keep in mind this is not something you're going to be able to use for very scientific purposes, as it only goes up to 400x.

Sorry to report the BEAVERLAB Wireless Lab Handheld Digital Microscope was a bit of a let down. First of all, I installed the Beaverlab app from the app store, the connected my phone to it through wifi. Next, I opened the app and the first thing it wants is for me to share my location. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!! Why in the world does a microscope need to know my location? So I click no, then the app loads. I am then greeted with a pop up in Chinese language that looks like it's asking me a yes or no question. I tried both choices. I click on the button to let me view the microscope and it says it's not connected. I hit connect and it takes me to my wifi settings where I see I'm already connected. Back to the app. No connection! It's likely because I will not share my location. So, I give up. Further reading of the instructions say you can use it with a direct USB connection to a Mac or Windows computer. Nope! I do video editing on a regular basis, so I know how to connect and view camera data. Neither Mac or Windows recognize it. I uninstalled the app from my phone and I just can't believe all the other reviewers are fine with sending your location data to a Chinese company you know nothing about. Sure the three paragraph privacy page says they will not share my data, but sorry, I don't trust anyone. Not for a microscope anyway. I had high hopes the unit would function with the cable plugged in, but back in the box it goes. Also, the lens cap does not stay on at all.

NOT MUCH TO SAY BESIDES, ITS WORKS AND WORKS WELL. THIS WILL DO EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS IT WILL DO AND YOU WONT HAVE ANY ISSUES SETTING IT UP. IT PROJECTS ITS OWN WIFI SIGNAL THAT YOU JOIN AND THEN YOU CAN VIEW THE OBJECT THRU YOUR DEVICE. I PURCHASED THIS FOR COINS AND WORKS EXCELLENT.

This is a neat little device for zooming in super close. I'd like to get more macro style photos and I think this will work once I get it all dialed in, it will just take a little practice for a steady shot. I like that its highly portable and battery powered so I can bring it with me anywhere.

If you need a very small, super portable microscope this is it. I don’t usually use the Pros/Cons format for reviewing products, but as I made my list that seemed to work best for evaluating this. My bottom line is that this is a reasonably good microscope and I’m not aware of a more portable one if that’s your top criteria, but this small device has some limitations, the biggest being only a digital zoom Details below:Pros:+ Very easy to set up. Scan the QR code, install the app and launch it, connect your phone’s Wi-Fi to the microscope, and then choose the microscope as the device you want to connect to in the app. Adjusting the light brightness and zooming in and out is pretty easy.+ You can take a photo using the app on your phone, and not a button on the microscope itself. This eliminates shake of the microscope when you’re trying to click to take a photo.Cons:– First and worst, the zoom is only a digital zoom and not a true optical zoom. There’s really only a single photo resolution (720x1280) and it just enlarges that view, the same way you would enlarge a photo in Photoshop. The photos taken when digitally zoomed in on the subject are conspicuously pixelated.– Absolutely no app options whatsoever. You can only initially save a photo to the app’s own gallery. You then have to go into the gallery to save it to your default smartphone album to do anything with it. Also, the app asks you to confirm the save EVERY time and you can’t turn that off.– It would have been nice if holding down the + or – zoom buttons would provide a continuous zoom in or out. As it is, you have to click for every zoom level. All that clicking quickly became tiresome!– I really don’t think the full magnification (with the digital zoom) is 400x.TIP: Hold the microscope upright with the wrist band to the RIGHT so that when you move it forward or backward or left or right, the image appears to move in the same direction and is not reversed. I found it much easier to “navigate” the microscope when holding it this way.Bottom Line: This is a super compact microscope that performs well for its size, but if you don’t need something so small then look for a digital microscope with more convenient options, a higher resolution, and true optical magnification.
