Sadly, we had to bring down an ancient black cherry on our property. This lovely tool provides some consolation, in that it allows us to work with the wood for the beautification of the home that sits on the property.Time seems to slow in a deeply satisfying way when using hand tools with old growth wood. This drawknife has a nice weight and balance. Not too large. Not too small.Highly recommend Mueller tools. Solid. Time tested. True.

I have been working with wood for give or take 40 years. This is my first draw knife.Handles are just the right size for my wide short hands. Very comfortable. Not awkward and very usable. I could easily use it to carve with. The blade is 1 1/8" wide and 9 1/4" long. Came from the factory with a sharp polished edge and will be easy to keep an edge on it.I spent several months trying to figure what I needed in a draw knife. This one was a good fit. It's a well made quality knife. Very happy with the choice.

I’m a woodworker that fabricates fine furniture. Most of my tools are very high quality and….EXPENSIVE. This tool is not expensive but is solid and heavy. You’re not going to break this tool. It’s not real pretty and probably not the tool for fine finishing work. I purchased for rougher style shaping and removing bark from my rough sawn lumber. If you want a “finishing” tool, you’re going to spend many more dollars. I got what I wanted and what I paid for. BTW, sort of fun to use this thing.

I’ve had this knife for about a year now and have put in through H E L L and back, continues to debark logs and cut through extremely dense wood like pignut hickory and red oak like butter. Be super careful because a quick bump on your skin will make a deep cut. Does not need deep sharping, a few quick swipes with a good stone and you’ll get the edge back. I bought a few others but definitely not as good as this one.

This knife is amazing. Excellent craftsmanship. Excellent quality steel. Arrived razor sharp. Definitely handcrafted! I use it to quickly shape dimensional lumber into staffs and paddles and this makes me feel like the Michelangelo of wood carving. Every stroke feels natural and effortless. The bend in the blade is just right and so is the angle of the handles. They are positioned perfectly to give you optimum push and pulls. For just a few bucks more than the fabricated competition, why settle for slightly less?
