Wix difficult to tighten (and remove). Top is smooth. No texture to grip by hand. No surface for wrench. Fram equivalent is easier to use but the price nearly doubled this past year.

I bought this filter for a John Deere D 110 lawn tractor. I have watched numerous videos of oil filter comparisons and wix filters are good quality filters. I was using the Napa gold version of these filters which is basically a wix filter, but paying $15.00 to buy at Napa. I also looked into buying them at O'Reilly and they were $15.99. Lowe's wanted $14 for a John Deere oil filter. I found this filter on Amazon and it was a great deal. I don't believe you can go wrong with a wix filter. I have already installed it on my John Deere and it has worked flawlessly. I give this filter five stars for value and quality!
