The quality is ok with the overall product. It is made of parts with reasonable thickness and gauge. It is well manufactured; however, no one paid attention to the screws. Each unit is provided with a four countersunk wood screws, but two of the screws should be panhead screws, especially since the part these afix is rather thin. I had to dig around for the right screws. In addition, the countersunk screws are sized incorrectly and stand proud of the metal to which the magnet is attracted to thus preventing full contact between the bar and magnet. A good product with the wrong hardware.

Pro tip: after you install the magnetic side, put the screws in the metal strip, stick it to the magnet, close the door, and give it a good smack to mark where to put the screws when you install the strip to the door. These work well great when properly aligned, but not so well if the screw heads keep the magnet from “sticking.” They’re strong enough that my seven-year-old now thinks there’s a secret trick to opening the cabinet, instead of just pulling harder.

Ordered these to replace plastic versions that had started to crack and break apart on some furniture pieces. These are so much better! Definitely more substantial and sturdy and should last. Very good magnetic grip, easy to install. Happy we made the change.

Item was as described. Purchased to keep trash drawer closed: my dog learned how to open it and was getting into the trash. Used 2 of the 50 lb.magnets and it is hard for me to open .

Using these magnets to keep a beagle from accessing the trash can. At 13 years old, my beagle has learned to open the under sink cabinet doors to wreak havoc with the trash can. I wanted to prevent that but didn't want a complicated latch that would get dirty when I am preparing meals. These latches work perfectly. A firm tug on the cabinet doors is all it takes to open them. The magnetic latches were kind of difficult to install. The provided screws are Phillips head and easy to strip. I substituted my own screws. The provided screws also are not magnetic, so if the metal plate isn't exactly lined up with the magnets then the magnetic latch is much weaker. The screws I used were magnetic. I highly recommend pre drilling the screw holes or you will most likely strip the supplied screws.
