I gave this 5.stars because I love the weight and look of it. I bought two shelves one with 12 cubbies and one with 9. I am a 70yr old female and even though they recommend you have two people I put this together by myself. It took about 2 hours for the large one. The first thing I did was line each piece up in numerical order. I used the top of my coffee table to lay the pieces on as I put them together. The directions were not great, but if you look closely at the pictures you will lay the pieces the right way. Make sure to notice the way the holes go so that you don’t have them pointing toward the top of the shelf. I used the two pieces in my bedroom and filled each cubby with a fabric box that I will use as drawers. I found the ones in the picture are better than the soft ones. As far as functionality size and sturdiness it’s great. I will buy again if I need another one. I used the tools they provided plus an electric drill for the screws in the back of the shelf.

Overall the install was easy and the bookshelves look great! I put them together myself and it wasn't too challenging. Id estimate the completion time at 1.5 hours per shelf because I was working alone.The rating is a 4 instead of 5 because the back panel was the worst part of the assembly. The panels were flimsy and the screwdriver provided stopped working by screw 4. Otherwise I do love the look, size and weight of the shelves and would recommend them - just have your good screwdriver nearby!

Bought this as a way to organize kids’ toys in our living room without having it look like - or only be able to be used as - children’s furniture. It’s sturdy and high quality with some really nice details that bring it a step above a plain cube organizer.

WOULD be an amazing awesome shelf. Well built, sturdy easy to assemble-IF it was drilled correctly. I eventually managed to assemble it enough to be functional, but the holes on the top piece (or somewhere in the mix are WAY OFF. took apart and reassembled to even ensure that I hadn’t flipped or switched or rotated something wrong. It doesn’t fit together. What a colossal waste.

For the price it’s super sturdy and easy to put together. I did it in about 45 minutes by myself. Fits all my needs! Great bargain! Looks amazing in my new space and easy to move
