grew up in the 50's, 60's drinking orange pekoe black tea. that taste of tea disappeared from bagette teas 20 years ago. this tea has captured that flavor perfectly. smooth, non-bitter, absolutely love this loose tea-works in a perculator with a paper filter or just hot water from the stove or microwave.

This loose leaf tea tasted spoiled. I’m afraid to drink any more of it and I can’t return it.

I first tasted Lapsang Souchong tea at Colonial Williamsburg when I was young, and I have loved the deep smoky flavor ever since! Definitely a black tea with lots of tannins, so know that going in. But it is an amazing coffee replacement! The quality of this tea is phenomenal, and the price is super reasonable. You are not getting the fine powder you get in the little tea bags, you are getting quality loose leaf!

I guess there must be people in the world who can actually tell the difference among brands. This one is just fine, and luckily, I had the tin left over from my previous order. What's with the4 tendency to sell teas and lots of other stuff in "resealable" baggies?

Strong taste but it’s really good and the tea leaves last long!

A nice, smoky brew. Tea arrived fresh and brews a nice, robust cup. Good value for the price paid.

Super happy with this pu-erh. It was just what I was looking for. Nice malty, earthy, sweet notes. Just warming and comforting the way a cup of tea should be. I drink it straight with nothing added. It is beautiful and one serving can steep several times and still have nice flavor. Also love that it is USDA organic. I hadn't had pu-erh in a while and had bought some tea bags at a co-op that were ok and remembered how much I loved this tea. But the tea bags didn't have a really rich flavor. They were good but not extra delicious. A favorite local coffee shop used to carry pu-erh so I would go there when I wanted a nicer version. But then they stopped carrying it. It has been rainy here. I went to about 4 cafes and 3 grocery stores that carry gourmet products one day and couldn't even find the tea bags that were at least decent. So I went home, logged on to Amazon, took a chance on this and I am in love. This tea just makes me feel happy. I will definitely be reordering and this tea is getting me through the rainy winter. Like a hug in a mug.

The color is just not right. Not the vibrant green you expect. Has the aroma of cheap tea in tea bags. Bad quality leaves. Don’t buy.

It's tough to know if you can trust organic labels, but at least the USDA organic label is on this bag of tea grown in China. It mentions "natural flavors," though. I don't know what that means. I've been disappointed with "organic" LS tea in the past as it's MUCH weaker than non-organic versions that carry risks of contamination from more aggressive chemical processing and polluted soils. I made a cup of tea from this brand on getting it and the cup offered the expected pine-aroma and taste you expect from LS. And I got a DOUBLE-brew out of a heaping tablespoon of tea leaves--and am trying to squeeze a third out now.If we can trust this is truly organic, it's one of the best LS I've tried on Amazon--and at a reasonable price.*********QUICK UPDATE***********After trying to reuse this tea's leaves, we've found it takes 12 to 15-min re-brew of 1-TBS of leaves to 6 oz hot water to extract any more tea flavor. And we have to dress this up with a very generous squeeze of fresh lemon. So while this tea produces a flavorful FIRST BREW cup (1 TBS leaves to 6-oz to 8-oz hot water for about 4-5-min brew), the leaves are then spent. Increases the cost profile of this tea (maybe all LS teas?).

I have been drinking green tea daily for the last 5 years; I would not buy this tea again, it tastes like it contains some harsh chemicals, I doubt that this is an organically grown tea as advertised.
