bought for 2016 Dodge Journey in Nov 2024 Part has stopped working by Mar 2025. Can hear it try to move but doesn't unlock. Had to cut a hole from the inside of the vehicle hatchback and manually unlock to uninstall.

There’s two plugs that are the same one is black and one is white. The black one goes into the actuator, the white one into the door. I got it mixed up. 🤣

I really was pleased with this high-quality replacement lock mechanism for the rear hatch of my 2016 Dodge Journey. Comparing this to the original equipment lock mechanism I removed, I believe this plastic may be thicker, and the quality is at least as good, if not better than the original lock mechanism. My hatch quit locking, but I was able to find and very affordably obtain this replacement - installation only took about 30 minutes, including removal and replacement of the inner lining of my hatch. I would not hesitate to buy this again as it fit perfectly, and appears to be very well-made. FYI There are no installation instructions included as is typical with any auto part, but I was able to find videos clearly detailing the steps for lock replacement on YouTube which increased my confidence in my ability to quickly and easily replace this part.

My old actuator was producing a very loud noise. This new replacement fixed that issue. Now it works like new.

If you just want it to do it's job and don't mind the farting noise it makes when doing it, this is what you want for the price. Every time I lock the doors, this makes a funny noise, like an electric fart....boogie woogie woogie...
