Bought and used last ski season. My son and I rent ski equipment at the local hill. The rental shop is not known for top notch care of the rental equipment nor do the renters take care when using the gear. So we get down to the shop early to rent and then use the file to sharpen the edges of our rentals. Make ALL the difference (along with liquid wax) compared to using the skis as is. Well worth the price and the time to use.

I had tried a plastic cheap sharpener that came with a "kit" and it was pretty bad. This was the replacement I purchased after much deliberation, research, and recommendations, and I couldn't be happier. It holds a variety of honing stones, plus it comes with a somewhat decent file.I first used the included file on my ski's to set the angle I wanted and it didn't take off a lot of material and required a bit more passes than I would have expected, but once that part was done I moved on to 3 stages of diamond honing stones and it works brilliantly for this. I was able to attach and swap out the stones very quickly: the screw holds the file and stones incredibly well and never came loose. This is FAR better than having to use a clumsy clamp or a loose "tight" fit mechanic.The face that extends down the bottom of the ski is sufficiently long so that it is mostly easy to hold the proper angle with a bit of focus. I can re-sharpen/hone a set of skis in just a few minutes using this, even running through 3 stages of grit.Overall I am very happy with this tool and couldn't recommend it more for those of you who need just 1 angle and want a more professional style sharpener that will hold your file/stones securely.

Ausgezeichnet für alle Arten von Schleifsteine. Diamant, Keramik, Stahl, usw.Auf der Skilauffläche entstehen nur geringe Kratzspuren, welche man ganz leicht mit einer Bürste entfernen kann.Durch das flexible Befestigungssystem kann man die Feile beinahe auf der ganzen Fläche ausnutzen wodurch sie nicht immer an der Selben Stelle beansprucht wird und damit länger hält.

I really like these. I own 89, 88,and 87d. No need for an additional clamp to hold the file on the tuner. The only thing that would make these better is if there were the option to purchase matching stones. I had to do a lot of looking around before I found a set of stones that work well with these. I'd give 5+ stars if this was an option.

I’d been looking to upgrade to a fixed angle file guide for a while and bought this on special offer. I used it today with the supplied file and it was great. Smooth, sharp edges with minimum effort. The file clamp is easy to use and holds the file or a diamond stone well. No more inferior adjustable guides for me!

No more plastic files for me. Stop wasting your time and money and buy the real deal. Judging by the first 6 set of skis that I filed, the XCMAN Hard Aluminum Racing Side Bevel Angle File should last a very long time. The file guide holder is a bonus. I bought clamps as a backup but the file guide holder is working like a champ.
