I got this because, according to near field theory, a sensor with a larger diameter coil has a farther detect range. However, in actual practice, this sensor has only a 2~3mm range. Such a short range isn't any better than the smaller sensors, so what even is the point of this?

Inductance switches are great. This one was at a good price too. I’ve always associated the yellow tipped ones to be a specific size. This is the first one I’ve ordered where it wasn’t what I was expecting. It’s much larger then the ones I’m used to. That’s my fault though for not looking at the dimensions. Still works fine. This would be big for something like a 3D printer though.

Works well, printing directly on the aluminum bed. After calibrating I get perfect first layers. Mine worked on 5v as well, although I decided to wire up to 12v. Marlin was easy to set up for it.
