Used a few times since I purchased in November 2024. Now it only shows zero even with the probes in water. In the trash can, looking for another reliable unit.

I needed to test for moisture in a cinderblock wall that had a crack in it. I chose this because it was cheap and had the pointed prongs. I have no Cons about this device only Pros. I was pleased that the device only showed a moisture content of 4.4% which is considered as dry. I liked that the prongs come with their own small plastic protector, plus the outside cap. It comes with instructions that can easily get lost, so just keep an eye on it or tape it to the back of the tester. To replace the batteries, you peel away the rubber outer casing to reach the battery compartment. It's simple to operate and the display is easy to view. The device is small and sits in the palm of your hand. I'd certainly recommend other people to buy this.

This worked well for checking the moisture content of the lumber before purchasing. Handy and easy to use.

We cannot take a chance of any moisture when freeze drying foods. It is accurate and fits well in my small hand.

Better take a pic of the moisture guide if you pan on using it on different substrates. The paper guide will not last long.

I've been using it to test our firewood every few weeks and tracking the dryness. Once you understand the type of wood matters it's very simple. We check several logs through the pile and they have been decreasing each month and are now ready for burning in the fireplace.

Overall, I like it a lot.I have another moisture meter that came with our wood burning stove. This one gives very similar readings (within the accuracy range: +/- 2%), has much sturdier probes, and is a little more compact.I've been using it for a couple of weeks, and so far, I'm super pleased with it.Pros:- Big, back-lit LCD screen.- Sturdy probes to poke into the wood. This is a big plus for me. On the other moisture meter I use, the probes bent quickly and are harder to push into the wood.- Easy to use. Yes, there are a lot of settings you can select for the type of wood, but, if you are testing firewood moisture content and you're burning hardwoods, then all you really need to worry about is setting it to "3" once, and forget about it. It remembers the setting.Cons:The exposed buttons do get accidentally pressed if you walk with it in your pocket, so the settings may get accidentally changed. This is not really a problem, because it only takes a second or two to put it back where you need it.
