Right away when you open the package, you realize that the new model is less atractive than the old one.It isn't glossy. It has a weird oblong shape to it. But It's about the same size as the previous model.So on to the good stuff.It is very lightweight. It makes you aware that you should probably go easy on these. I don't know how much abuse they can take, and I'm trying not to find out.There is a power switch (remember to turn these off when not in use!) a power indicator light and I believe it has six channel light indicators.I don't really care about the indicators. I was looking for a new version of the old wireless system that didn't work on the 2.4Ghz frequency that nearly everything else seems to work on.When I first went wireless, 2.4Ghz was just fine. I still needed to be consistent with the direction I was facing to get the best signal. But it was workable and sounded fantastic.Fast forward just a couple years. Maybe three.The wireless system has sooo much interference that it's nearly impossible to find a clear channel to use while playing.When I first had seen the 5.8Ghz advertising, I figured it was just a money grab and didn't really provide any benefit. I was clearly in the wrong. The new frequency has been nothing short of spectacular.The signal is clear as day and I'm very satisfied with the new design.I still see they are selling the 2.4Ghz version, but I think it's wrong for them to do so knowing that the airwaves are jam-packed on that frequency.Regardless of the right or wrong, I'm going to continue to use the new design and do so with a smile on my face. This is the best purchase I've made in a while.I can't recommend this enough to those who have not ever used wireless systems but are looking for their first one, or are stuck with a 2.4Ghz and tired of dealing with the endless interference.

I bought this after using the other systems that auto shut off if you don't use them for a period of time.The audio quality is top notch and the reception solid.Great little unit excellent for guitar bass or any other instrument with jack output. (Like my AKAI EWI)

I own several U2 Wireless Systems & Prefer them to other brands. Drawback was, can't use with battery piezo pickups. Well, the A58 works perfectly (at my home). It has a light for the active/passive mode, 6 channels, On/Off switch & easy recharging. The active mode has a lower output then passive, which is needed to prevent overload & noise. What was interesting, I used the active mode on Lollar passive humbuckers & it gave them a little grit which was a really good sound (IMO). I can't speak for the less expensive wireless systems; I believe these are worth the asking price.

Just received it and did some tests. Easy to use, feels like sturdy construction, and it did very well when compared it directly with my cable. No volume change and the tone was great, extremely close to the cable.It has great features such as channel scan, so it finds the strongest clearest channel for you in that venue at that time. It also has a passive and active mode depending on what type of pickups your instrument has. Very compact and comes in a great carrying case. Looking forward to taking this out on the road!

This is a GREAT wireless system. I'm very pleased. However, the dual port charger that came with is not working correctly. Only one of the charging ports will charge and I have to swap back and forth when charging. Overall this is a fantastic wireless unit. I would definitely buy this again.Also, how can I purchase a new dual charging cable?
