I now have 3 pairs of these speakers in my listening/movie room mated to a Yamaha Aventage AV receiver and couldn't be happier with the sound. It's warm yet clean and clear when it needs to be. Construction was very high-quality. Combined with a sub - you won't miss a thing. Installation is exceptionally easy. I used the provided template, filled the opening with insulation, mounted them and they're as firm as can be. Now that they've been painted (use very thin coats) they're not noticable until someone inquires (due to the room-filling sound).

I was not expecting these speakers to be as good as they were, specifically because they were installed inside the wall. I am using these as the rear speakers in a 5.1 system. I expected the sound to be slightly hollow or tinny, but that is not the case. They produce full range of sound that easily fills the room. They are an excellent compliment to the full size Pioneers I am using as the front speakers.

I had these in my last house and I got another pair for my new home. They sound great and are easily installed. The size is big enough to produce good sound but not so big that you're cutting it close in between stud bays. The product descirption brags about how these are paintable. I did not paint them at my last place but decided to do so this time. Be warned it will take two to 3 coats of paint to make it look good. I used latex. The paint will not want to go over the mesh holes in the grill. If i could do it over I would use a sprayer to paint the assembly before hand. Once they were painted up they didnt dissapear in the wall like the product claims, but they still look great. I will be buying another pair for the rears when I get around to it.UPDATE: DO NOT use latex paint to paint the grills. I did and it plugged up some of the holes, resulting in muffled sound. I failed to read the directions which stated to spray paint the grille. I had to order new ones from Yahama for 8 bucks each. The speakers do come with a plastic guard to paint the trim ring though. I do not feel like buying an airless sprayer to spray the latex that matches my walls so I just left the trim ring painted and the grille factory white. They still look and sound great and I will be buying another pair for my rears soon.

Easy installation (as long as the wires are pre-run), looks good and sounds great. When painting, make sure the paint isn't too thick (I used a paint sprayer with thinned interior latex to match the wall) or you'll plug many of the grill holes...which I later meticulously poked out with a pin. Would use the same type if I had the need for another set of built-in speakers. Price is right, too.

Installed these speakers without too much issue. The only thing I would recommend is to make sure to cut on the outside of the line that you trace from the template. I had to adjust the first hole that I cut for the speaker a few times to get it to fit. The second one was no problem (learning curve). The sound is great and there is just enough bass. I have a separate sub-woofer so I did not want too much bass. Overall these are great speakers. Also, if you plan on painting the grills it is best to spray them. I used a little spray kit I purchased at a hardware store called a Preval Paint Sprayer. Cost about $7. Worked pretty good.

These Yamaha In-Wall speakers offer a ton of features and sound great. Based on Price, Quality, Features, and Ease of Install, you get the most bang for your buck with these speakers. They have a dB adjustment for mid & high tones right on the speaker. They offer multiple wire connection options, and are simple to install. They sound great with my entertainment system, and look great in the wall. They can be painted to match your wall color, which is another nice feature. I looked at and reviewed low, mid and high end speakers when looking to upgrade, these Yamaha speakers give you high end features, options, and sound quality for a very reasonable price. From what I found, they are the best deal out there!
