These are cheap insurance, I was an outboard technician for years and replacing your impeller once a year for saltwater and once every two years for fresh is the way to go.

I buy these annually to replace on my F70. They could make it at least another year but I change them anyway. About every three years I buy the full kit to replace the sleeve, plate, gaskets, etc, but not real need for that expense every year. I have a water pressure gauge and it stays consistent with these impellers.
