I had fairly low expectations for these, I was pleasantly surprised that they can attach to each-other vertically and horizontally. For ease of use when connecting them vertically I suggest first attaching them horizontally in two sections with the top section hooked through as to give it a slightly smaller diameter than the bottom section. Then attach the two sections vertically as shown.They feel sturdy for the price and should keep my trees safe from bunnies this winter.

The plastic is a heavy enough material to fend off rabbits but deer will tear it apart unless you use zip ties to lock it in. It has enough pieces to protect two sapling trees

These are really nice, heavy duty protectors. They are flexible enough to encompass even very small trees securely. They are a little tricky to lock together at first, but you get the hang of it. I also like that you can use them in either direction. They are a great protector for very young trees when you coil them with the long sides going up and down around the tree. I also like the interlocking feature which can also be employed whether you are using them long side up the tree trunk or long side on the ground for larger trees. Using two, one on top of the other, provides extra insurance for my trees even when there is snow on the ground. Our bunnies still can't reach higher than the protectors and girdle my trees. Excellent design.

We have a bad deer problem and I have lost shrubs and trees due to deer rubbing antlers and taking the bark off. Replacing them costs quite a bit of money. Even with chicken wire around the tree, they caved in the wire and damaged the trunk in several places. These guards are heavy, easy to snap together and snap to stack. Zip ties made sure they stay put.Now, let's see what the deer do. Looks like a good product.

I purchased some for home and some for work. At home, I have a small maple tree that the cats have been tearing up and I was worried they would kill it. I also have a medium juniper that the mowers and weed wackers are damaging at the base. These protectors are linkable and can be configured in different sizes. I was able to make a tall skinny protector for my little maple and a fat short one for the juniper. These protectors are heavy enough to stay put and sturdy enough to hold up to the mowers and weed wacker.

The item comes in 7 separate, flat sheets. They can interlock to form larger sheets or to surround a larger tree. The sheets are very stiff and hard to curve around to form a tube around a tree. Once interlocked they form a hard "shell" around the tree. Lay them in the sun to have them soften to easier fit around the tree. I will buy again when my tree gets bigger!
