The ligature on the Rose Gold is too small. So I’m using the ligature that comes with the (Gold 9* MP).

It looks fantastic! I am a bit concerned about the tip opening etc. but then again I have not tried all of my different reeds with this. Right now I have a Yamaha plasticover reed with my Rovner 1M (Dark, Leather) ligature. My ligature is for my alto sax, yet it fits this perfectly. The ligature that comes with this is fine, and the metal cap is fine, if you are not using a Rovner ligature (too big for this cap). Anyway, pricing, fast delivery etc. it sounds and plays well. The timbre is different than a plastic mouthpiece and I am able to hit all registers comfortably. No resistance but rather great response.

Buenos graves y agudos.

It took forever to get this #9 tenor mouthpiece (about 6 weeks!!) I almost gave up on it ever coming, but it finally did, and I am glad I waited, instead of asking for a refund. It came nicely packaged and protected, and inside the box was an absolutely gorgeous looking mouthpiece, lig, and cap! I play professionally every weekend, and I own about 40 mouthpieces. I recently bought a Jody Jazz #8, a Sugal #8, and a Berg 105. All three went back. (I liked the Berg, but it was not quite open enough for me, and I might at some point try another). I did not care for the JJ or Sugal at all... (For reference, I find my Beechler metal #8 to be my favorite in the high power mouthpieces, followed by a Eugene Rosseau metal #8, which is just a little bit less powerful. My favorite low power piece is an Otto Link metal #7*). This Yibuy #9 (at least the one I received) came through with flawless build quality, and perfect finish. Although it is listed as a #9, I would say it plays more like a 7 or 7*. The interior dimensions and constuction look very similar to a modern Berg, but I do believe the Chinese people never try to duplicate things- they choose instead to mimic products and attempt to improve, or at least put their own spin on them, with mixed results. This one is a winner! It is almost as powerful as my Beechler, and almost sounds as good. If you get one, you will need to go about 2 opening sizes bigger than what you would get with most other mouthpieces. Also, it is a very bright, "modern" sounding mouthpiece, but the sound is quite rich and punchy, and not overly harsh. (For reference, I find my Dukoff D8 to be too harsh). I like the older style Rovner lig on both this piece and my Beechler, to tame the edge a bit, but it still sounds good with the supplied lig. Another thing I would like to point out- This piece might or might not have a gold plated finish. It has what looks to be a rose gold lacquer finish, which might have a tendency to wear a bit quicker. Or perhaps it is a gold plating, with a rose lacquer over it. I have two other mouthpieces made by this company, one in gold plating and one in silver plating, and the plating appears to be genuine on both.
