I bought this rod thinking it was an adult rod, but it surprisingly still gets the job done! It’s pretty thin towards the end of the rod though so I don’t think it would be able to hold more than 8-10 pounds. But it’s pretty and reliable, it casts well and smooth! Good for the price, just smaller than I thought it was.

I love this fishing rod so much, and have caught trout on it. It's been hard for me to get away from my kid rod since I know it so well, had another adult rod that I didn't care for and caught nothing on, first time out with this new rod I caught something. I'd recommend this to anyone to fish but this would especially be nice as a gift to someone who you'd like to get into fishing like a girlfriend or something cause the rod itself has really beautiful colours so it's pleasing to the eye. I also like how it collapses (be careful collapsing it, don't be too rough.) it has a holder to go around when it's collapsed so it stays in place and is safer to carry and travel with.

Bought this for my son so he can have a fishing pole on hand that fits anywhere. Unfortunately, while testing it out,the last 2 sections became stuck almost immediately after extending it. It took some real effort to collapse the end, using rubber grips to unstick it. After finally collapsing it. We put it away until we were able to use it for actual fishing. When we finally had time, he extended it carefully and the end section broke off completely with no resistance. I put the reel on a spare rod. So far the reel seems ok, for the price.

I have no complaints on this Rod/Reel combo! I bought it for a 2 week offroading trip for its telescoping design to be a space saver. It feels good, cast smooth and held up against a couple 4-5lbs bass, a few 10-15lbs catfish, and a bunch of bluegill, perch and trout. If you looking for a good portable Rod/Reel combo that performs just as good as 3x the money sets, don't look anymore and just buy it!

It's a very nice pole. It comes with fishing string but it's so light it doesn't let the reel "grab" it so I highly recommend taking that string off and putting new heavier string on it. My petite 7 year old daughter loves fishing and can use this pole with no issues. It casts well.

Bought this for my wife to use when we are kayaking . Just an inexpensive light set up. Well , she was out with her kayak over the weekend and the rod got caught on a low tree branch and pulled it out of the rod holder and into the river but she had it clipped on a line and she just had to pull it up to the kayak and got it back . Without the clip built into the rod , it would have been gone for good . A great idea that actually works !! It paid for itself in my opinion. Anyway , It is a good rod for white and yellow perch but I wouldn't be tangling with any big catfish with it . The rod would have a shot but not the reel . Those gears usually get stripped out when you mess with big fish with these inexpensive combos. It's really not a bad combo if you target smaller fish species. The first thing I do with these combos is take the handle off the reel and spray a little wd40 in there . Then , get rid of the line . They always skimp on the line to keep costs down . Get some SpiderWire or your favorite line and spool it up ! If you take care of these set ups , they can last a long time .
