I got this scanner to use with Square and it does work for that, but I had to get a USB adapter to use it with my mobile device.

This scanner was recommended by Square for use on an Android phone or tablet with the Square app. It does work fairly well with the Square App. I do have two complaints though. It didn't come with an owners manual, instead it came with a single sheet of paper that was printed too small to see without a magnifying lens. It was so small the barcode scanner couldn't even read the barcodes on it. I had to do a search online to find the over 300 page manual. Second complaint is that the scanner wouldn't let my phone "sleep" between uses. So my battery that usually last a couple of days of heavy usage was depleted in five hours.

MUCH cheaper than buying from our POS supplier. Worked first time hooked up and hasn't stopped. I recommend this product.

I see on "booktok" people creating their own home library databases by using free software and scanning of barcodes. I had to find the instructions online (which was easy to do) even though it came with a small cheat sheet. This barcode scanner reads all the information about the book and puts it directly into the software! It hooks up directly to the laptop; while other scanning options out there don't have a cable at all, for my purpose it's not an issue at all.

I haven't tested to see just how warm this gets when it's plugged in, but it's not something I want to leave plugged in.I've been backing up and documenting what things I own (CDs, Vinyl, Books) and wanted to be able to scan them into a database. This works great to do that. But I do wish that I could turn off the beep or turn it down. I'm going to tape over the holes for the speaker because it's LOUD.Overall, it works as expected but gets warm and is a bit loud.

As expected, quality zebra scanner. Came with good quality cable. I would recommend this product to anyone in the market for a good scanner for 1d and 2d barcodes. regular barcodes and QR codes for example.

This is an Amazon renewed USB-A 2.0 Zebra Symbol bar code scanner. The stand is not included. The USB cable seems to be new. The "bundle" in the listing title means that a microfiber wipe is included, for some reason. The scanner works out of the box as a plain vanilla bar code scanner, meaning you'll have to download the manual to program it to press enter or carriage return or any other options. A copy of the manual pages is included, but the bar codes are either too small to scan properly, or you need to set up the scanner differently to use them. I was able to scan the bar codes on the package and the plastic wrap, as well as a QR code, so it works correctly. Be careful when you print out the manual that you print at a high resolution (you might also want magnify the codes you want to program to make them easier to scan. So far it looks as good as new.
