I've struggled for years with pulling down control arms to do bushings, struts, wheel bearings, etc. So seeing this cleverly designed tool made me order it right away. And it turned out to be a winner. It makes it much easier to find a place to grab onto the control arm and get the leverage you need. It works with any 1/2" drive ratchet, but I'd recommend a breaker bar under most circumstances. It'd definitely easier and safer for a DIYer as it just works and doesn't require the experience of doing this in a shop for years.

very nice! Like that I can use this tool with a 1/2 inch ratchet or breaker bar. It's all about leverage and this paired with a long ratchet does a great job. Can easily recommend this to anyone but keep in mind, you will need a 1/2 inch driver ratchet with a decent amount of length before you can take advantage of this tool.

This is one of those tools that if you're a DIY mechanic on your own cars, you probably won't be using it very often. But the day you want to replace your lower control arms, you'll definitely want to have this tool. It's solid built steel and gives you the leverage you need to break the control arms loose.

While I will use this at some stage to do my control arms I specifically bought it to help with pulley removal on my power steering . Need to be able to brace the pulley to back off the center bolt . The pins on this lock into the spokes of the pulley and the breaker bar can be jammed against truck frame or the ground which prevents pulley from spinning to allow you to undo bolt. Solid pins and the Y frame is heavy duty , 10mm thick steel.

nice tool to separate control arms, I look forward to using it redoing my cars suspension soon, a lot more elegant than using two pry bars or a big hammer.
