Pro:-easy to clean, hose off solid waste, toss in the washer, it comes out of the WASHER dry!-thick material yet easy to cut to size-my baby sulcata loves it and also likes to hide under it hahahaha-very absorbent, urine is absorbed fast, I wash this carpet usually once a week-holds up well in the wash! I was is cold water with normal detergent, no stretching, shrinking or fraying wear and tear, it's been washed dozens of times and absolutely looks brand new still!Great product! If you want to make life easier by double what you need, this way you have to replace the one that needs washing.Cons:-not really any true cons, I wish it came in wider measurements as my sulcata has a large wooden tortiose house but obviously the main use for this carpet us in glass enclosures which are not as wide.

I purchase this for my Bearded Dragon's 55 gallon tank. I usually purchase this every three months instead of using sand or any other kind of particle that my beardie can ingest, but at the pet store it is twice as expensive! This carpet is for most 55 gallon tanks, the only problem with my 55 gallon tank is that it's dimensions are kind of odd so the carpet ends up being too long and not wide enough to fit my tank perfectly. It's an easy fix as the carpet is easily cuttable and I can cut it to where it fits my tank perfectly!I wash this carpet twice a month and by the time that three months rolls around it is definitely ready to be replaced but this is the safest lining for a lizard who uses his tongue to explore his surroundings--I don't need to worry about him accidentally swallowing it!Pros:- Safe for Bearded Dragon.- Cheaper than in pet stores.- Easy to clean.Cons:- Doesn't fit some 55 Gallon tanks.

The product quality is great and the shipping was great. We are just not in love with the "carpet". Our beardie's poop stinks and this is hard to clean. everything must be removed in order to pull this up and wash it. Even with a spare on hand, its a pain. Scooping poop only get the clump and leaves behind a smear of bad odor (sorry...try getting that image out of your head). We are thinking of going back to sand or a substrate that can be scooped daily, like a cats litter box. One draw back is we are using a 50 gal. fish tank as a habitat and its tall and hard to clean in the first place. This product hoses off well and would most likely work best in a smaller tank.

I try to get brown, because my torts try to eat the green one. This works the best for travel, but I also use it in half their enclosure, especially under their food dish. You can wash it, toss it, wipe it, etc. Doesn't create dust like a lot of substrate does. Amazon has the absolute best prices on these compared to any local store. The only cons is that it is hard to un-bend them, they tend to have a bump from being rolled up. My torts are in large rabbit enclosures here, we are not allowed to let them outside in our housing (so stupid, we would always let them run in our yards in Germany & Washington, they love it). The large sizes of these are able to cover most of their enclosure.

I just received my eco carpet today. Don't get me wrong, I love the carpet and how it wont irritate the reptiles belly. After I spoke to a rep. I was told I would be getting the brown color, I asked to please make sure. It's disappointing that I wound up with a very tacky green color that clashes with the desert theme, so, I gave it to my Daughter instead since she has a green tropical oasis theme.I'll ask my local pet store if they can carry Zoo Med Eco Carpet in brown; in the mean time I'll be going to Miami to do some shopping, I'll get Zoo Med Eco reptile carpet at Petsmart.I am not fond of guessing games. Petsmart online store has Zoo Med Eco reptile carpets and you pick your choice of brown or greenAMAZON, Please talk to Zoo Med and make it very clear what size is which color, it's not that hard to add detail, so the consumer wont get confused and frustrated that they wound up with the wrong color.

If you haven't seen or used Zoo Med Eco Carpet it is like a 1/8" thick piece of felt but made of a soft plastic fiber from recycled plastic containers. It's very well woven and fairly soft for a plastic product. It is washable and reusable when you clean your terrarium. I use it against the glass beneath a layer of aspen snake bedding. It prevents burning from an under the glass heater if my python decides to burrow or digs out a low spot in the bedding above the heater. Don't use an under glass heater without this or something like it or your snake or reptile could get hurt.My one complaint is not of the product, but the product description. They call it a 55 gallon tank size as if all 55 gallon tanks are built to the same dimensions, they're not. The size stated in inches is for the packaging. The actual size of the piece of eco carpet is 47.5" x 12.5". My terrarium is actually larger then 55 gallons and deeper than this carpet so I cut the piece in half and overlap it in the middle to completely cover the heated side and have no carpet under the cool side. I have had no problems with my snake trying to burrow under the carpet.
