Wish all my scopes had the copper fitting like this one, holds tighter and doesn't scratch the powder coatings.

The internal band secures the eyepiece well without marring the surface. Holds your eyepiece or other accessory without damage. Nice work!

this unit is pretty straightforward - it's metal, cheaply made eyepiece adapter. Make sure it fits your telescope. And, you shouldn't expect any kind of top-shelf metals or performance. It's basic, and it does that well enough.

Starboosa 0.965 Inch to 1.25 Inch Telescope Eyepiece AdapterI needed an adapter for my legacy telescope with a 0.965 in. tube so that I could use standard 1.25 in. eyepieces and accessories. This adapter fit the need. This adapter is well made and fits both my scope and eyepieces smoothly. I particularly like the compression ring connector that prevents damage to the eyepiece tube (I’ve used other accessories where the compression screw gouges the side of the eyepiece tube). The anodized black finish seems to be of a high quality, so it should last for years without getting scratches and scrapes from normal usage. I am pleased with this adapter and recommend this adapter if you have similar needs.

I have a lovely older 1958 refractor telescope. Back in those days, it was standard to use 0.965" diameter eyepieces and other accessories, as that was what was widely available (from microscope catalogs, mostly). These days, telescopes at the smallest use 1.25' eyepieces, and almost no cheap/inexpensive 0.965" eyepieces are available, never mind good ones.So an accessory like this is a lifesaver for a wonderful refractor telescope to be able to use modern eyepieces with it. This on fits perfectly in the focuser of my telescope, and the 1.25" end easily allows my 1.25" REALLY good mirror star diagonal to be used so I can utilize ANY of my dozens of 1.25" eyepieces with this wonderful old telescope. This should work just as well for any other 0.965" to 1.25" needs - provided you have the focuser "in" travel to use your 1.25" eyepieces and get them into focus.

This is a very well made adapter, but unfortunately I didn't pay enough to the precise dimensions for my intended use.I have both a telescope and an Amscope Microscope and the mini CMOS camera on the microscope broke. I thought this little adapter might allow me to use the 1.25" telescope eyepieces and camera on my Microscope. I now realize that the microscope bore is 23mm which equals 0.906" and this adapter has a diameter of 0.965" and won't fit. One has to ponder why they make them so close in size but not the same. The adapter itself has a nice finish and the 1.25" end has a nice brass ring inside to take the pressure from the thumb screw so it doesn't mark your eyepieces. I borrowed a digital caliper and was able to verify the adapter is very precisely the size it should be. The 1.25" end has a single thumbscrew which is perfectly adequate for this size eyepiece. So for it's intended use this is a nice little adapter!

I have an old Meade refracting telescope from the mid 1980’s I received as a child that uses .965” lenses. I recently got my son a telescope for Christmas and discovered that over the years the standards have moved to 1.25” lenses. With my son slowly gaining an interest in using his telescope and doing astronomy in general, I’ve wanted to get back into using mine alongside his. I wanted to get a few more lenses for mine as well as a nice phone mount. Since the standard has moved on, finding quality .965 lenses has gotten a lot harder, as have finding other related parts. With this adapter, the problem is solved. The part is made of metal, so it won’t bend or flex like plastic parts will. It’s nicely made, anodized in black paint. The .965” side of the adapter is threaded on the inside, though I’m not sure what for. On the 1.25” side is a thumbscrew, used for securing lenses or other items in the barrel. There is a copper strip on the inside of the barrel that the screw pushes inward. This is a nice little feature because it keeps the screw from damaging the barrel of whatever you put in the adapter as you tighten it.I tried it out on my telescope the other day and it works great. Of course, seeing as the 1.25 lenses are larger than the .965” barrel of the telescope, the image area is going to be smaller. That fine though because this adapter open up a lot of lens possibilities that were not there before. It’s exactly what I needed.
