This was a little smaller length than the original cable but it worked fine and the cable is already inside the casing. I don't believe this has a metal inter lining for the casing. I would only use this on children's bikes because without the metal inter lining the hard plastic case could pinch up if enough force is applied on the brake handle as an adult would apply.. If this is for a child then I see no problem.
