This is perfect for having redundant power going to network switches or gateways. I use these on the Honeywell application modules. These modules are extremely important for having/running process control software. These do not have the ability to have redundant power, so instead of having a UPS, we use this to have redundant power sources

We needed a way to carry over the machining process if the power every dropped off. Between the battery powered UPS and the commercial power, I had a pretty good run at things if it was very short term and intermittent. However, once the power outages went past a few seconds, I needed a different source of power. This ATS, when combined with the 220V battery powered inverter/UPS and the 11kW generator behind the shop, were more than enough to keep the CNC router running without a hiccup during our last snow storm. The power to the shop dropped out while the machine was running, and without fail, the ATS recognized it and the internal contacts sent the generator a "START/RUN" command, the UPS held the load until the generator came on line and took over the load.I wasn't expecting much, but his has prevented every power outage or blip from becoming an expensive, start over from scratch event.Thank YOU Xintaihele!

Unfortunately I received two defects back-to-back. Unit 1: the NO's and NC's did not change state despite the position of the main switch. Additionally: the switch would auto-transfer to GEN power but never back to City power...even if City was the only source to the switch and the LED indicating City power present was lit. I ordered a replacement, I didn't even bother assessing the NO/NC contacts because again it would only go to GEN power and never City power, even if City was the only source and the green LED was lit....and this time the switch buzzed heavily all times city power was present, alone or with GEN. "Instructions" are useless, they are just poor translations of endless safety garbage anyone wiring their own ATS doesn't need to be told (don't take-a-bath-with-it, etc.)
