Great for making squared off cuts in every type of tubing/plastic pipe I had laying around. The knife is very sharp and easily cut through everything. The largest pipe was 1 inch schedule 40 PVC. The gap between the anvil fingers is smaller than on some other products. This DOES allow it to cleanly cut small soft tubing. I had some lawn mower 1/4 inch tank-to-fuel pump hose that is very soft and hard to keep straight when cutting it. This product made a very clean and squared off cut. The piece removed is in my hand in the picture. The other picture is where I had a piece to 3/4 inch PVC (schedule 40) that had a sloppy cut made with my reciprocating saw. The blade was sharp and it didn't have any issues not crushing cracking the pipe. The 1 inch pipe was about the largest the cutter's anvil can accept. The grip force required was VERY reasonableAlso works great on drip line tubing. Tested on 1/4 and 1/2 inch tubing. The only negative issue that I see is with the plastic hook that is used to keep the cutter in the closed/protected position when not in use. The hook extends straight out the end of the handle... Hooks sticking out can also grab on things you don't want them to grab. Also things that stick out have a higher risk of being broken off. This cutter is a backup for another product that also has a broken latch. While it still continues to function, the blade goes to the fully open position (like this products blade does) when the handles are released and its blade is rapidly becoming dull, just from banging around in the toolbox.

I invested in a PEX Pipe Cutter about two or three days prior to coming across this particular product and wish that I was able to acquire this item instead. It’s not that the PEX Pipe Cutter is bad, it actually cuts great. The thing is that for around the same price, this PVC Pipe Cutter beats it in nearly every possible way. The build quality is excellent as it’s built tough, and it both feels and performs like one would expect from a professional tool.Unlike the PEX Pipe Cutter that I had recently purchased, this PVC Pipe Cutter will cleanly slice through just about any reasonable material (PE, PEX, PP, PPR, PVC, etc.) with relative ease. So, you cannot only easily cut through a wide variety of pipes of varying hardnesses, but the manufacturer’s claims of “Versatile Cutting Capabilities” appears to be a completely valid one. Everything from light pruning to electrical wire cutting should be a simple task with these, which is why I said that they are:“The One Cutter To Rule Them All!”That said, I highly recommend these as an addition to your plumbing toolbox!

Works quite well for irrigation tubing. Ratcheting design means high leverage that makes it easy to cut hard materials, though it also means several squeezes to get through a 1/2" line, so not super-fast. Not super tight mfg tolerances, so, for example, the gap that opposes/receives the blade is quite a bit wider than the blade, so 1/4" PE tubing will happily wrap itself around the blade rather than get cut, unless it's held in tension (easy enough to do). Handy tool.

I am remodeling out master bathroom which includes removing the plumbing and putting in new pipes. This tool is being used to cut the 3/4 inch cpvc pipes. I do like the straight cuts that it makes with no plastic burrs that I would get with a saw. The cuts are easy to do with not a lot of effort. This is the first time that I have used a pipe cutter like this and I like it. The manufacture of the tool is good and the materials seem to be quality.

I bought this cutter to cut a few heavy plastic coat hangers that was entangled in strans of beads. It snapped the hangers like they were sticks ofSpaghetti.

I don't cut a lot of PVC pipes, so up until recently, I'd just cut them with a hacksaw when the opportunity arose. The problem was, the cuts were never that clean or precise, and I'd always make a big mess with plastic shavings ending up all over the garage floor.I can't believe it took me this long to get one of these, but I'm so happy I finally ordered one. Cutting through PVC is like using a big pair of scissors. The cutter makes clean, precise cuts with virtually no mess. Best of all, the edges are so much nice and easier to use. There's less cleanup necessary after the cut, so that makes your work go much more smoothly.Highly recommended!
