I was skeptical about these, as my spoiled cats are fond of a real heating pad, but I was looking for something more affordable and environmentally friendly.To my amazement my two cats and my small dog all took to these immediately, and they offer the bonus of something easily washable when needed.

I bought for my elder cat. Did not self warm up. Instead I use a heating pad w a sn blanket over it

This product does not produce any heat at all. U can do the same thing with a towel or pad. The only heat is from the body which isn't any different than any other pad or towel.

They are bit thick so I would not necessarily use them as blankets, but I have used them as mats instead, and my dog loves them. I put one on his regular bed, and yes, it keeps him warm.
