They were used on a steel box which the lid weighed in at 90 pounds. Before these it was extremely hard to lift. Now, no more pinched fingers .Great product

Came quickly and in perfect shape, the brackets were included and worked perfectly on an rv to replace the stock hood prop. They really are the pressure they say so keep the weight they are intended to lift in mind.

Covering pool equipment, my "lid", is 3' x 4' (90 x 120 cm), made of redwood 2x4s and corrugated steel roofing, has to be 50lbs easily, and I was only able to use one shock as two was too much force to close and would not stay closed. One shock is more than enough to open with only a few pounds of lifting to get it started and it finishes and holds very firmly. Something closer to 25lbs rating would have been enough with the pair but this is doing just fine.
