I had a similar, but smaller unit, which got appropriated by a member of the family whose life style exposes them to more in the wild situations.We bring it to our hiking and camping trips. Very, very useful.The unit does not disappoint, NOAA’s stations come in easy and clear. Weather and alerts are there. The AM stations add news and music, and so is FM (much less in remote areas).The radio is small, a bit larger than my old one, most likely because of battery size. 20,000 mAh is the maximum you can take on a plane in carry-on. It alleviates the need for a separate power bank to charge a small device, like two phones.The telescoping antenna helps with signal reception. The volume and sound quality are decent for such a small unit. The flashlight, reading light, SOS audible alert are all great and ability to charge another device are ok, but not that important for me as I have dedicated devices. Just for the NOAA in such a small footprint it becomes a good addition to anyone who believes in being prepared for the worst – weather calamities, fire, and earthquakes.

It has a 3 level flashlight, and an emergency siren that is very loud.On the back, it has a reading light that turns on automatically when you open it. It has a compass built into the handle. It has an extendable antenna to receive AM, FM, and weather band radio. I had no issues with picking up stations with the antenna extended. There is a small silver metal piece on the handle that I’m not sure if it’s for décor or if it has a use. No mention of it in the instructions.I’m very happy with this versatile and well made radio.
