I received the item within less than 24 hours from ordering. It's plastic, and a little creepy looking but it definitely works! I have a lot of possums & raccoons that love to come out at night and when we let the dogs out at nighttime, they have had some run ins with these pests. Dogs are no match to either of them & possums especially tends to carry rabies. Unfortunately, I didn't have this a couple of weeks ago & one of the dogs had a run in with a possum and he is extremely ill. Thats what made me order this. I just wish I had it 2 weeks ago. It was easy to use right out of the box, it came charged with easy instructions.

Works well. I am surprised how well this seems to work. I used to have constant issues with rodents, squirrels, birds, coyotes, etc. in my yard, but this has deterred them quite effectively.

I have had a very similar device in my backyard for a couple of years to prevent the squirrels from turning my lawn into a war zone. It actually works quite well, so I put this one in the front yard after placing twelve bags of patching soil and new seed. It been a full day and so far they have been staying away. It also has been preventing the dogs from urinating on my flowers, as an added bonus. I like how this brand has USB charging port for cloudy days. Cute owl design is a bit much as I would prefer a tasmanian devil. It's discreet enough and the correct color to just place in front of my shrubs without really calling attention to itself until you hear the squeal and see the flashing lights. The volume control knobs are easily accessible on the front to shut off while doing yardwork.

I have problems with birds trying to nest on my porch, and I'm trying to discourage them. My porch is small, so there isn't room for both of us; and I'm the one that paid for it! I've tried various things for the past couple of years, and this will be the latest attempt.The instructions that are included are fairly useless in multiple languages. I got better info from the product description on Amazon.EDIT:There is NO mode that avoids having that annoying alarm sound off. In addition putting into mode 5 keeps the strobe light flashing in five second intervals. CONSTANTLY. I'm tossing this piece of junk into the trash.

Squirrels don't seem to like it! I'm using this in my backyard to try to put an end to the "squirrel freeway" that seems to run through my yard. It has helped, but the sensor is very sensitive and on a windy day, an oak leaf blowing by will set it off. If you use any of the modes that have audible sound (useful if you want to be alerted when something has set it off), it will get really annoying after a while, and goes off 3 times every time it's set off. So for long term use, I strongly recommend using Mode 4, which is the only mode that emits only ultrasonic sound (not heard by humans). Another nice feature is that while solar charging is a convenient option for outdoor use, it also comes with a cable for USB charging for indoor use. Overall, I'd say it's definitely worth a shot to try this!

Update. I opened and tried the item, but every time I turned it on, the alarm goes off every 10 seconds. I turned off and on the item to reset, still the alarm going off. Update. Seller was prompt to solve the issue without.

I had a serious rat problem in my attic. These little critters were making a lot of noise and leaving a mess. After installing this solar rat repellent, it's like a miracle happened. The high - pitched sound it emits seems to really bother the rats. In less than a week, the noise stopped, and I haven't seen any signs of rats since. It's so easy to install and the solar power feature is a bonus. I'm really happy with this purchase.

I live in an old house, and rats were a common sight. This solar rat repellent has made a big difference. It's easy to set up and doesn't require any complicated wiring. The solar panel charges quickly, even on cloudy days. After using it for a while, I've noticed that the number of rats has dropped drastically. I'm so glad I found this product.
