This isn’t going to do great in a deep well, but in cisterns or gallery wells, this worked great. I dropped it down an access hole in a gallery well, and was able to have it steadily running to easily fill a watering tub or for basic garden watering needs. It’s a basic two-wire hookup (with lots of cord), so there wasn’t much to figure out other than configuring the solar panels correctly. I acquired this as an emergency pump in the event of a power outage, and it looks like it will work out perfectly.

I was torn between three and four stars when assessing this item and with I could have given it a 3.5-star rating. I attempted to install this pump to draw water from a shallow (10 feet deep) well at my farm to feed a drip irrigation system. I ultimately had to ask for assistance from a friend who is skilled at electrical work.PROs:(+) Pump is solidly constructed(+) Flow rate easily matches what is advertised(+) Narrow diameter profile easily fit in the 6” diameter well holeCONs:(-) There is no installation hardware - this is just a pump with a cord coming out of it.(-) The single page of instructions was ripped in half and the important half was missing. If you have experience installing this type of equipment, this is a solid pump at a low price. If you are not electrically inclined, spent more money to get a full kit that includes a solar panel, connection hardware, switches, etc.
