I had heard of hemming tapes before, but I wasn’t sure what to expect from them. I had a couple of pairs of pants that I wanted to hem, but I don’t own a sewing machine and didn’t feel like spending $15-$20 to get them professionally hemmed. So, I decided to give these tapes a try.When I received the product, I was surprised by how thin the tape was. It looked like a very see-through piece of felt, and it felt flimsy. There were no instructions on how to use it, but I had an idea of what to do. I didn’t notice any adhesive on it at first, so I decided to test it out. I placed it on my ironing cloth and ironed over it. To my surprise, it worked! The hem stayed in place, though it would come apart if I pulled on it too hard. However, after the hem came apart, I was able to re-iron it, and it stayed put.I also tested the tape after washing and drying the fabric, and it held up well. I’m planning to try it a couple more times before using it on my actual pants, but I’m optimistic. While I’m not sure how many washes it will last, there’s plenty of tape in each roll. With four rolls (two black, two white), I’ll have more than enough to keep the hems secure.I really wish I had discovered this product a long time ago. It’s been a game-changer for me!
