These big boys (9") are just what I needed to work on my metal work for welding.These discs are pretty thick, but work great. Being 40 grit you have to be a little careful as you are hitting the material pretty hard, but it really does a fast job to get your metal down to clean and clear, ready for welding in no time.So far - they have lasted a while and I am pleased with the result.

I've used some grinding wheels from WA Grinder in the past, and these flap wheels are another good product. The 40 grit is aggressive and cleans up rough surfaces quickly.In the 9" size, these are able to move some material quickly or smooth large areas. The comma is in the wrong place on the label, but they are rated for 6,650 RPM, so suitable for larger grinders, or I use them with my variable speed 5" grinder to not exceed their maximum rpm. In the listing there is a photo which says 15,300 RPM, which I'm fairly confident is a misprint - maybe they just modified a picture from their smaller diameter flapwheel offerings. This would be a dangerous speed to run this diameter wheel at and for this confusion I'm not able to rate these a 5-star product.Regardless of the surface being prepared with these flap wheel discs, one should always wear eye protection and gloves, safety is a must when dealing with this much kinetic energy. Use of a side handle is preferred, though I know many people who dispose of them and just hold the grinder body.I've used one of these for several projects and it doesn't show any excessive wear or manufacturing issues. They seem well made and the pricing is reasonable for their large size.
