I have begun using this in 2.25" squares and I sandwich the fabric them front and back and do a quilt as you go. I make my squares 2.75" inch so that I can sew with a quarter inch and they are up against one another. I started making these for little doll quilts. This is a good stash buster. I get 800 squares per roll and will cut it all down at once and have them in a container next to my stash so I always know where to find them. Each of the little quilts are 6.5" x 9" and they go quite quickly.I also teach sewing, and I have found that when a project like this can be done very fast in one lesson, the child takes it home. There is immediate gratification for the child because they have accomplished something for themselves.

This is a little different batting than I use for my quilts but I still think it will be good for a jelly roll rug. I’ve made one rug with my regular 80/20 quilting batting and I had to cut it all first. So I had to take advantage of this pre cut. I’m excited to give it a try. This has a little more polyester than cotton I think. I see no reason it won’t do a great job.

Great batting rolls for making jelly roll rugs. So soft and feeds well as I’m feeding fabric simultaneously into my sewing machine. Great sized rolls for the price. Functions well and easy use!

this is a bit thin, but being precut saves so much time. I have decided to bust out all my scraps. The rugs are going to Animal shelters and rescues. Alsomwithnthis being thinner, it works for placemats.I can also use this for purse and wallet straps. This is a good price for what you get.

I like the 2.25 wide size for making jelly roll rugs. I still cut my fabric at 2.5 inches wide but that little bit of narrower batting makes it so much easier to work the rug. The only thing that I wish they'd do is list the cotton/poly ratio. When I buy batting, I most often buy quality batting at an 80/20 ratio. This feels similar, but I'd really like to know for sure. Quilter's, like me, can be very picky when choosing their fabrics, battings, and tools.
