I was looking to upgrade to a Losmandy style plate for my wide field Astrophotography setup. This does exactly what I want and it’s really solid. The benefit of having a large plate like this is it allows you to balance the load on the equatorial mount a lot easier. My previous dovetail plate was only 210mm long and I could barely balance it, with this I have plenty of room to move the telescope forward/backward as needed on the head of the mount to achieve perfect balance.

Replaced a less-than-confidence inspiring short vixen plate that was standard on my refractor with this. Much better! Lightweight for the size, lots of bolting options/holes, solid feeling and good length to make balancing on a mount easy. Works great on my iOptron and AM5 mounts. Includes a nice, useful selection of bolts as a bonus.Even with shipping etc still a great deal compared to other name brand options. Recommended!

Modifying my scope, just what I needed.

Bought this to replace a SW plate used to piggyback a scope on a SW 120mm. The SW plate went back because it was smaller in width than plate that came with the scope, a GGE plate and an ADM plate. I have three dovetail clamps that will not tightly clamp on the SW plate. But on this new plate every saddle, shoe, and adapter that I have works perfectly.I cannot see any flaws in this plate, the mix of M6 and 1/4 x 20 holes works for me and the included M6 in-hex screws work nicely as safety stops.I did not get this product for free, darn it all, but it still gets five stars.

Typically, gear like this would cost well over $100 in the photography industry, depending on the brand.VALUE:If you quickly search for other plates, this is an excellent price because of the no-name brand.BEST FEATURE:You can utilize endless holes to put on various adapters for Astro.WORST FEATURE:Do not have inches anywhere on the plate, relying on millimeters.SHIPPING & PACKAGING FROM MANUFACTURE:The packaging was great, and I highly recommend keeping the box for travel purposes. I've attached bolts to the bottom to put it on my desk, which looks fantastic.PThe design production CNC manufacturing is fantastic.Most people need to realize the amount of time, energy, and control with water tools to create when you have a solid block of steel or aluminum. This takes a reasonable amount of time.PROS:There are endless mounts, adaptors, and accessories you can use this for.CONS:IT WILL NOT FIT 1/4 or 3/8s for traditional photography gear.SETUP TIME & TOOLS:Setup time will vary drastically depending on how many accessories you have testing out, various setups, and buying longer screws.TIPS & TRICKS:Be 100% careful racing your 1/4 and 3/8 equipment into these holes because you strip the bolts or plateau.You've set up various camera rigs in my life, and I tell everybody to have patience with the process.I can guarantee that you will have multiple setups/breakdowns or start over from scratch that will involve hours of your life.It's an excellent education on setting up your plate and trying different configurations.When you're testing out new gear until you have it in your hands, your brain can't quite grasp how different it is.Reading about this on Amazon and utilizing it in the field, I can still remember using my first plate in the number of times I had to take everything apart and put it back together; it was a learning experience.BRANDING & MARKETING:A HUGE amount of gear for Astro.SECOND GENERATION:The box did not include instructions, and it would have been great if they had included an instruction booklet so you could read it over.It will allow you to learn how to use the plate by following the recommendations in the instructions, which include various pictures to give you more ideas.RECOMMENDATION FOR FUTURE PRODUCTS:I mentioned a few products; however, if you look at their Amazon page, they have diverse products that will fit your needs from A to Z.CLOSING THOUGHTS:When I held this, it was heavy.The quality was fantastic, and I could respect the CNC manufacturing and design behind it.When I was a child and in my earlier years at school, my uncle owned a machine shop. He made only custom parts, which he would push for a machine shop.The bottom line is that I've seen the entire process from A to Z, and if you have never seen CNC manufacturing with water, I highly recommend you go on YouTube. What comes from its solid steel block is fascinating and mesmerizing.WHY YOU WILL VALUE MY PHILOSOPHY PERSPECTIVE:I've been involved in commercial photography for over ten years and cycling for over 20. This appears to be a nicely made Losmandy plate that mounts rock solid into my Ioptron CEM60 mount. Came with a big bag of different screws. Nice markings on the sides of the plate. Now need some cloudless nights to be able to try it out on the scope.

I love the screw in stops that will prevent the scope from sliding back off the rail if the dove tail isn't fully tightened.
