I got this trolling motor for mainly a back up for my aging Bayliner boat. It's hard to start, it gets hot and quits running. So when this happens, I turn on the trolling motor and it pushes my 17' boat just fine to get to where I need to go. This I s an awesome motor and gives me peace of mind. I won't be stuck on the lake.
