I like these sanding pads! I haven't had a chance to use them for their intended purpose, yet, but gave them a quick look and don't have any concerns about them. They don't seem like they would last all too long if you are a professional who is going to use them a ton, but for somebody at home they're about perfect for a single project.

These pads work well to remove marks on countertops. Light pressure, random orbit and at low speed takes out swirls and surface scratches. Just have to pay attention to the work. To check effects I tried #3 first (most fine) and it cut but needed more, went to #2 with desired effect…….then back to #3. Keep the pads wet at all times will result in polished finish. These can restore the shine!

I’ve long been intrigued by 3-step polishing pads, not sure how it compares to typical 8-step systems. I’m still not sure I know how it works, but I was delighted with the performance of these ComeFloor 4” wet/dry 3-step pads. My trial was done on a project carved from a hard quartz-laden granite, which took a bit more work.I felt like it took a bit to get the first stage done; it seemed to take longer than expected to completely erase the tool marks in the transition from grinding to polishing. I suppose that’s because they don’t start Step-1 in the 50-grit range, but perhaps in the 200-grit range; I don’t really know. However, once that first stage was in hand, the progression through the other two was seamless …and with wonderful effect. I ended up with an absolutely wonderful mirror surface shine. I’m very happy with it.I also like it that these pads advertise as being wet or dry. That gives greater flexibility in my work. However for this particular stone I still worked almost entirely wet (which of course makes it more difficult to see what I’m doing, but importantly it keeps the stone and pad cool). For the last stage (#3) I also worked it wet, but then let it buff just dry. What a delight to see that perfect mirror shine surface come out from under the spinning disc. Very nice.

Excellent, but with some caveats.I've never attempted to sand marble before, but my rented apartment is full of old, dingy, deeply etched marble countertops that haven't been given anything more than a wipe down for at least a decade. As I just signed a new lease I figured this was a good time to give them a new lease of life.I'm a massive cheapskate, and while these are 4 inch pads my orbital sander takes 6 inch, but as I'm a member of Amazon Vine I was able to get these pads for free, so... yeah. Not ideal, but I made it work. I wouldn't recommend using the wrong size, though. One false move and the velcro of the disc will scratch up your marble. Now here's the thing. These pads don't come with any instructions at all. The only guidance you get is the numbers on the back to tell you which pad belongs to which step. I'm sure a professional is able to determine the correct RPM, pressure and time by experience and feel alone, but as a beginner I felt a little lost, especially as most online tutorials don't guide you through a three step process, and these pads aren't marked with a grit number. I just had to wing it.I was unable to get the mirror shine I was looking for, though I know this marble is capable of producing such a shine as it still has it in some low-traffic areas. I'm guessing this was a failure of my technique rather than a problem with the pads. What it did do, though, was bring out the lustre of the marble. After testing it near the windows of my home office, where it wouldn't be so obvious if I screwed it up, the marble now has noticeably more depth and colour. I don't have the mirror finish I was hoping for, but the dinginess has been removed. I'm satisfied with the results. Now I know I'm capable of doing this without wrecking marble that doesn't belong to me I'll go ahead and shell out for some diamond pads of the correct size.
