We use this is a child's bedroom to dampen the screaming sound when he has meltdowns. We don't have all the walls covered so I cannot tell whether it would indeed be sound proof (no sound getting through), but it does soften the sound some.

I can’t actually comment on how well this works as I’m using it to muffle noises between condo units. We haven’t gotten any more complaints about noise though so it’s probably helping? It does seem quite thin, so if we need to replace in the future I’d probably go with a thicker version.

Great for tuning the sound of any room, I use these in my drum room to reduce echo and ring. Works wonderfully and truly improves the sound. This is one nice large sheet.

Got these to set up a home podcasting studio. They do the trick. They were easy to hang, and break up and absorb the sound just fine. I was really surprised how light these were! I have another set of sound panels that were wood-mounted and those weighed 70 lbs. Anyone could carry these.

These acoustic foam panels are great!Packaging: The panels come nicely packaged in a vacuum-sealed bag. Included are instructions on how to help the foam to build its shape and guidelines for its installation.First Impressions: As soon as I opened the vacuum-sealed bag, the panels sprang into shape. I didn't need to soak these in warm water at all! They fully expanded within seconds.Quality: I’ve purchased a ton of similar foam panels in the past which claim to be "high dense", but rarely any compare to the quality of these. They’re both soft and dense. They feel premium. Unlike the other brands that I've tried, these actually seem capable of absorbing a bit of sound. Well done! Conclusion: Overall, this is a great purchase. These are some of the best acoustic foam panels I’ve used so far!

I've tried several methods of acoustic treatment in an effort to reduce sound leakage from a room. This has been the least effective. I thought it would be denser than normal egg crate foam if it's meant for acoustics, but it doesn't feel any different - it's not the thinnest I've felt, but I'd say it's low to medium density. It helps soften the sound slightly, but it's not going to solve any big problems. If you're trying to reduce sound leakage, you need more a substantial material, thicker and denser. It doesn't come with any adhesive or other method of attaching it to a surface. What I'd recommend is searching for "adhesive safety bar pin". They come in big bags for cheap. They're little safety pins with an adhesive backing. You just stick a pin into the edge of this foam every 6" or so, remove the adhesive backing, and press them onto the wall. Be careful so you don't stick yourself with the pins!

i record in my office, which does not have carpet in the basement, putting a Drumset carpet, x2, for both my kits, and using several 12 packs, of a specific sound proofing, I needed about 2 more dozen, and this is about perfect for what I needed, so glad I got this offered.
