I ordered these 316 stainless steel snap shackles to serve as latches for permanent cargo tie-downs in the back of my pickup truck. I put one of these snap shackles on each end of a 316 stainless steel cable, and then I fastened each shackle to a 316 stainless steel tie-down hook in the truck’s bed.And now that I’ve got everything set up just the way I wanted it, I am absolutely thrilled with the result. Snap shackles are awesome in my opinion. They are just so easy to work with. It takes two seconds to close the shackle, and less than a second to open/release it. They are just the best type of latch in my opinion. And these 316 stainless steel snap shackles should pretty much last me forever. If you have any questions about these 316 stainless steel snap shackles, please feel free to ask, and I'll try my best to answer. I hope you found this review helpful.

These are perfect for being able to quickly release when under load and the build quality is nice. They are true to the stated dimensions but the photo in the hand is misleading and clearly photoshopped. Sellers need to stop with misleading description photos.

I bought this one for the shackle end, allowing for connections that do not require a carabiner or knot. The one on the left is great in that it closes one handed due to the rounded pin, but this one requires a hand to close the jaw and the other to pull the retaining pin to let the jaw close and lock in place. The left one will have the jaw push on the pin, and the pin will slides back and locks into place automatically. The main benefit of this Baieasy one is the shackle though, and its great. The split ring keeps the shackle pin securely (unlike the threaded pins used in keychains,) nicely holding onto anything with a loop end or D-ring.

Baieasy 4 Pack Snap Shackle Sailing Halyard, 316 Stainless Steel Clevis Swivel Jaw Swivel Shackle, Quick Release Snap Hook for Sailing Rigging Shackles, SCBA face Masks, Firefighter Mask--- so if the item is being sold in the usa, it is incumbent upon you to include are silly imperial measurements as most of us, dont know what 70mm means. so i looked at the pictures and say the persons hand. and thought oh that'll be big enough. well, what i was sent is not the same size. unless that persons hand is from an infant. also, its a very peculiar connector, i dont know that it will work as i had hoped especially becuase it is so much smaller than expected.

these are beautiful pieces of hardware. They are very nicely finished and function very smoothly. They also seem very sturdy

The design works. They open under load when needed and they stay closed when they need to. That is basically the most important thing to know with snap shackles. I have seen higher end hardware with much higher prices, that look nicer but really the price of these and the utilitarian need I have are a good match. I am looking for function over form. These look good to me. If you are shopping for hardware for million dollar tasks, you can get dressier designs. If you want a good design for the money, these will do.

I was apprehensive about a swivel shackle from an unknown brand but these are quite nice. I shared an extreme close up and the quality of the polishing under the microscope is good, very similar to so much more expensive ones on my boat. I would never use a swivel or a pinned shackle for going up the mast so this is obviously good enough quality for non-life supporting work. When the weather is warmer, I will pull it with a winch to check but I am sure it will work well.
